Getting any?targetman377 wrote:at the gf's house
In the summer, really since we moved to a house on the river about 5-6 years ago. This is the first time I can remember it freezing over. Not only that but it didn't melt at all either. Won't expect it to tomorrow either as the tempeture's even colder.autoload wrote:But I thought way down yonder on the Chattahoochee It gets hotter than a hoochie coochie?

I'm actually glad someone's using this other than me. I saw a part of that movie and from what I saw it was far from bad, but I didn't see enough of the movie to make a definite opinion.jonesthecurl wrote:I'm going to steal a Strike schtick:
Jonesy's Movie of the Week:
Green Lantern: First Flight
This is an animated movie which I picked up as a present for the curlson in the closing-down sale of my local comic shop (a sad, sad, event for me - but a happy one for the owner who assures me the decision was driven not by economic, but by personal reasons).
I bought it 'cos it was half-price and 'cos I thought we'd enjoy watching it together.
I was stunned at how bloody good it was.
I don't believe it ever made it to the cinemas. Shame. It's better than 90% of the stuff I've seen in them for ages.
Without throwing away the basic core of the classic origin story, it made it new, less clichéd and (frankly) silly than the original, and blew me away with the quality of the animation, the (voice) acting, and the plot.
The curlson was equally moved, a rare event in a guy whose usual movie fare consists of undead, screams, and things being severed.
Seriously, you should see this, folks.

The Smurf movie has been getting a lot of praise.strike wolf wrote:Jonesy's comment reminds me it's time for the Wolf's event of the week.
This weeks event is...
THe chattahoochee freezing over.
May not be very significant to you northerners but to someone who lives in the hot humid south it's very interesting.
Also as an added bonus...
It's time for Strike's movie of the week
this week's movie is Avatar.
I thought this movie was excellent. The Special effects for this movie are superb and the plot may not be revolutionary in setting a new stage but I felt it was executed excellently. I'd recommend you all give it a look.

It's a great movie. I'm not usually one to judge a movie by special effects but i think people should see this movie if for no otehr reason than to see the special effects.pimpdave wrote:By the way guys, Avatar has broken $1 billion worldwide already.

Just keep in mind, while most of our latest presidents probably did/do have nukes, Truman had the balls to actually use 'em. (Yeah, I know technically it was an atom bomb, but you get my point)strike wolf wrote:I wouldn't qulify FDR and Truman as our most bad ass presidents but it does give an exmple of how taking on a large foe doesn't make you the most badass.Lucarilover240 wrote:Well, Roosevelt and Truman took on the majority of the eastern hemsphere.
