Grim, but the most likely scenario, I'm Jewish and would hate for it to happen because nothing good could come of it, but it is the most likely result of the current conflict in the Middle East.

I've been entertaining the idea of a 6 day war map or yom kippur war, maybe a duel map set. To me its really kind of an interesting series of conflicts, in terms of military lessons, ect. I think they'd be great regional maps to play on.

Elaborate please. You can't just walk in to a map thread and say "it's a bad idea". You need to be more specific, explain your reasoning.

How'd you like if I walked in to your map thread and simply said "this is crap, forget it" but gave no reason for it? I bet you wouldn't. Mapmakers need feedback, but there's a difference between well thought-out feedback and random crap like this.

There are plenty of maps about wars in CC already. There are already some controversial maps... Fractured America was highly controversial, yet it now seems to be a popular map.

And any comment is "random crap" as long as you only say "this is bad" but do not give the reasoning to support your argument. Now you have stated your reasons, and your argument is no longer "random crap". But I still disagree with it. ;)

There's already a map about the Iraq war, so I don't see why any modern wars could not be made into maps.

Agreed. If a map of the Iraq War is allowed, I don't see why any other map on modern war ought to be allowed. I mean, I see where you've got to draw a line though... making maps of Dachau or Israeli settlements in West Bank/Gaza is probably crossing a boundary not meant to be crossed.

But if we're looking at maps of modern war in terms of tactics and strategy, I think its fair game. The Arab/Israeli wars, in terms of tactics and force structures are, perhaps, the most fascinating this half of the 20th century and well worth consideration.
