Post by colton24 »

Who is a NASCAR fan here? Anyways this is gonna be a good season. We can discuss what we think about who here and who will win the next race. Daytona 500 coming soon!!!

Will Edwards end up like this after a great race and/or season?(Dega crash)

I'm a fan of virtually all forms of racing but when it comes to NASCAR, which is great racing amongst the drivers, it's a little boring to watch em go in circles for three hours. I'll watch the road course races and maybe even Daytona, but as far as sitting at home watching it goes, it falls into the baseball category - snoozeville.

I love all forms of racing......however, having a small biz and a life includeing kids and a boss-lady, I rarely get to actually watch entire events - maybe 1 or 2 a year.

BUT.....I record every race and filter through them eventually ;o)

I hope Jimmy DOES NOT pull another championship....we need new blood. I cant stand Jeff Hypocrite Gordon  Personally, I'd love to see a vet get the gold....like Mark Martin or one of my faves, Michael Waltrip (he has the WORST luck). Wouldnt mind seeing Andretti do something....gotta love Dale Jr. just for his history and the crap he's endured.......

The Bud shootout last weekend was an excellent appetizer....very good race till the snafu at the end....lol.

Anyway....huge fan; thanks for the post ;o)

Made the mistake of reading that post. Feel better for that snide, uncalled-for remark? Any sport can be made fun of in such a manner.....so desist, please.

If these guys were travelling at 60 mph in a minivan, I agree it would be boring. However, they risk their LIVES to play....200 mph, 12 inches from stationary objects, clustered with 30 other missles.....not boring or easy :D

They're left turns, god.

How can any sport be made fun of for doing the same exact action over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over…

No, it's more like:

kick the ball, dribble the ball, make a move on a defender, kick the ball, head the ball, tackle someone, kick the ball, dive and catch the ball, throw the ball…

or

kick the ball, run, catch the ball, run with the ball, get tackled, hike the ball, have people run in different directions, block people, throw the ball…

or

step to the side, pivot, leg lift, stride, release the ball, swing, hit the ball, run…

Looks like Jimmie won the first qualifier :(

A friend of mine that works for a team said to watch for the Petty guys this year, the switch to Ford has been a huge step in the right direction.

I'll have to step in line with KB here. I "USED" to think nascar was dreadfully boring until.....................myself and 6 of my best buddies since middle school, all rented a 30' camper, bought $600 dollars worth of steak, ribs, bratwurst, and hamburger and about 20 cases of beer. Camped right outside of Lowes motor speedway in Charlotte, NC for 4 days. I just went along for the man trip and because i actually COULD NOT BELIEVE that all 6 of my bros actually got MANTRIP PASSES from their wives. Let me tell you what though, when walking through the gates into that stadium, once in the corridors, you could "FEEL" the rumble, the thunder of those cars roaring, i mean ABSOLUTELY SCREAMING around that borring little oval you speak of. It was like STAR WARS, the sound of light sabres being swung right past your ear drums. You could not help but have your heart start racing, the hair on the back of your neck standing on end. And it's not just purely going in circles, you say slide tackle, steal ball, bicycle kick ball into goal, header into upper 90 of right corner, dribble dribble, skyhook, swish..........these guys are poised like rattle snakes, strapped into F-16 's at 200 mph, they dive down low, bank high, smack bumpers, bang doors, slingshot out of corners to pass somebody they have been chasing closely for 50+ laps and in all those moments, you get your thrills, much like any other sport. Granted sometimes they are fewer and farther between hair raising moments, they are there. And some days, its just all out crazy ass racing from the get go, especially when somebody out their has some beef over the previous race, or some smack talk before the race, etc etc. And i have to admit, as tragic as some have proven to be, the crashes really turn up the adrenaline/excitement factor and some races are just chalked full of them.
Now FISHING, that has got to be the most GAWD AWFUL boring sport that can ever be televised. I used to think that way of golf, until i took up the sport and gained understanding of the complexity and how freakin challenging getting that little dimpled bastard to go where you want it to , can be. I seldom ever watch nascar, but i catch the daytona 500 every year. And have a blast at a big redneck fest out in the woods at a state of the art deer hunting cabin, complete with cable/satellite t.v, 50 inch plasma flat screen, 9 step, dual towered , electric/mechanical skeet shooting range. Tons of gambling, pig roasts, poker, rifles and pistols being raffled off. Pure country boy BLISS. I've rambled enough, peace out!!!
You better recognize BISH!!!!!!
