My kid was looking forward to the ceremonies but it was time for bed.
I am composing a hate mail message to send to all the NBC executives I can find. I think they are all traitors to this nation and should be executed.

Not that I would expect most Americans to know both of those people, but I figure if you're going to make an international broadcast, you should know what you're talking about, at least a bit.
Loved it, incredible races, such close finishes
Those guys have such good board control
To bad we don't have any good snowboard crossers....
We only have Van der Wal (male Halfpipe) and Sauerbreij (female Slalom)

Don't forget the truth serum and military tribunal.

Biathlon is one of those things I thought was a lot more badass before I saw it. Biathletes are some badass mofos, but I definitely thought it was downhill. Also, where were the Finns? I thought they owned biathlon. Or is that another preconceived notion that was actually pretty uninformed.
Speaking of biathlon, one of my fellow beach bums and myself decided that we are going to make a beach biathlon - kiteboarding and archery. The funeral home near us should start getting ready for new business.
watched that with my lad. thought Seth would win it, my lad had a feeling the Canadian that came 2nd would win. was leading most of the way until an unbeleivable burst of speed from Seth(forgot sirname). great competition though and the womens snowboard cross was just as exciting with Maelle(Can) winning. every round she was well clear of her nearest rival.
watching part of the Womens downhill at the mo. some spectacular crashes. British girl was shit as usual with the commentators making excuses. fook she was over 2 1/2 secs behind the person that was winning early on.

Yes indeed! Both snowboard cross races were very exciting.
I've been disappointed that I only managed to catch the last bit of both downhills. The races had already been decided, and all the runs I saw live were far off the pace.
Watching the first run of men's halfpipe right now. Always a good time.
I don't know which event, but I see the tv listing saying there will be some short-track speed skating on a bit later. Those are always exciting races.
fook me sideways. how good is Shaun White. I seen his 2nd run and it was fantastic, he had nothing to lose though as he had already won Gold.
a British woman is leading after 2 runs in the Skeleton. it's not even Shelly Rudman who won Silver last time in Turin. Amy Williams is .30 secs clear, that's a fair margin in the speeds they travel at.

Good enough.
Good enough to have his own line of video games.
Good enough that everyone else in the competition knew they had zero chance to win gold, as soon as they knew he would be competing.
Good enough for Red Bull to build him his own private halfpipe, completely inaccessible by anything other than helicopter or snow-cat, complete with foam pits, so that he could perfect the newest big trick to hit the halfpipe (double cork).
well done Amy Williams for winning Gold. that is only the 9th Gold Britain has ever won at the Winter Olympics.

yeah that's him. he was shit-hot on the night.
the womens curling team had a good win against Germany then got battered of Japan. played 5 won 3 lost 2.
watched the Women Super G. when I left the action Fischbacher (Aut) was leading by a fair margin and most of the good 'uns had gone.
I think i'll be watching the Ski-Cross tomorrow, that looks mad.
the Ski-cross was even better than the Snowboard-cross the other night. I think you have to be a bit deranged to do that.
well done to Bode Miller, his 3rd medal of this Olympics. 1 of each colour now and about time he won a Gold at the Olympics. he was fantastic in the slalom of the combined.
I was watching the Ice Hockey, Germany v Belarus. it was 2-1 Belarus, I went for my Dinner, next thing my lad said it was 4-3 Belarus. I missed 4 goals in 6 minutes. watched the last couple of minutes and Belarus scored a cracking 5th.
