I told him to pm you, but I kind of figured he wouldn't. I am going to forward you the message I received from him the other day...Need a decision to be made concerning the rest of our games since it is very important to the tourney for every group to moving along.Dazoot wrote:Would have been nice if he PM'ed me about it. Because he is in over half the games I'd rather him join and if he misses turns he misses turns. At least if he does well in his games he has a chance for round two. If not he will have to be replaced.kennys777 wrote:plowable_earth says he can't play all the games...What is the verdict on this situation dazoot?

I'd be careful, 5 out of your group have placed fairly well in past Map Blaster tournies. This tourney is not really about the wins..it's about the points. Past round winners have not won the majority of the games. It's about lasting to the end of the game and some players love setting other players up for a fall and not leaving singles for cards because if you can't get a card in a game you get 0 points even if your stack lasts to seventh place. Other players hate seeing stacks, in the past one poor player got beat up so bad for just stacking armies to the end and not attacking that the one card win rule was born after much trash talk in the forum. So before you start trashing players about their game play in esc. games they may be playing Map Blaster tactics instead of the one time normal escalating strategy.riodeishere wrote:i wonder why i joined this tournament. all clueless noobs who cant play escalating are in my games.
suiciding stacks, going for bonusses, giving easy kills for 5 cards.
people, learn 2 play escalating plz
So true. Requires a real adjustment and I got hammered in the semifinals of the last one despite having the second or third most wins. Really frustratingDazoot wrote:I'd be careful, 5 out of your group have placed fairly well in past Map Blaster tournies. This tourney is not really about the wins..it's about the points. Does this mean that there is no score for the position that the player finished, or that everybody else moves up a position?Dazoot wrote:You must attack at least 1 opponent and receive at least 1 card on every map. If you fail to do this your score for that map is void and you will received 0 points for that map

For example: Game 6411301. Scoring should be:
denominator: 10
overlander: 7
Anders2004: 6
bernooch: 5
grunion: 4
sandman175: 3
jgazaille: 2
joeaggie98: 1
Except that overlander never took a card. So is it:
denominator: 10
overlander: 0
Anders2004: 6
bernooch: 5
grunion: 4
sandman175: 3
jgazaille: 2
joeaggie98: 1
OR
denominator: 10
Anders2004: 7
bernooch: 6
grunion: 5
sandman175: 4
jgazaille: 3
joeaggie98: 2
overlander: 0

Not to mention it is fun as hell!Dazoot wrote:denominator wrote:Quick question about this rule:

Example one is correct, you score where you finish except if you do not take a card you get 0. There have been some that left a player to the end knowing that they did not have a card and took them out last knowing they would recieve 0 points. It's a mind game.
That's what I thought, so that's what I did. Thanks for the clarification.Dazoot wrote:denominator wrote:Quick question about this rule:
