st patricks day is coming, is that coming back?

It's St Patricks Day on March 17th... it seems a little bit early to have done that much celebrating, unless you're reminiscing from past glories?

instead of a patron saint who was a turk that never set foot in their country that couple of crusaders liked the story and adopted it as their own
think i'd prefer to be happy drunk than a plagarist
(st patrick was welsh and st bridget was cornish i know least they stepped foot in ireland)

i thought st patrick was a jock. captured in scotland, smuggled back to ireland and enslaved. when he escaped back to scotland and gained his freedom he found religion. he then thought it'd be a good idea to try and civilise the irish.

this was obviously a complete failure. so i'm at a loss as to why he became a saint.
