USSR didn't include Romania.

Finland, well, tanto fez, as they say. Cynthia thinks it's not part of Scandinavia. They speak a non-Scandinavian language.

I would tell your teacher not to ask so stupid questions :D... but anyway... I think its correct to say Finland is not a part of scandinavia. But try and browse the web for scandinavian countries and I would say a third says its not, a third says it is, and a third says it is..(sort of) :D

I agree with you on all except on #3, It was Berlin, though, were is Vatican City? In Italy?

I remember at school in 1987 (as a 9-year-old), I was feted at assembly for knowing ALL the capitals of every country in Europe. All 32 of them.

Little did I know how useless that information would become in a mere two years' time. :cry:

'Tisn't just in (and therefore surrounded by) Italy, as far as I'm aware, it is in, (and therefore surrounded by) Rome itself.

Because A) it wasn't about 1989 Geography
B) I didn't know West Berlin was completely surrounded by East Berlin
C) Vatican City was right anyway

The easternmost bit of Norway is further east than all of Sweden, so the question sucks.

Yes, I only brought up the Vatican-surrounded-by-Rome thing as a point of interest. Stick with the programme, Direstraits, or you'll never pass any tests at this rate.

Very well spotted! If not Finland, its definitely not Sweden as well. Norway stretch's over to border even Finland, and hosts the northern most point of continental europa (IIRC).

Yep, your teacher is right that Finland isn't part of Scandinavia. Norway is the easternmost. Finland is geographically part of Fennoscandia, which consists of Scandinavian peninsula, Finland, Karelia and Kuola peninsula.

Culturally Finland is pretty close to the other Scandinavian cultures - however the language is very different from most of the other languages in the world.

This is how we consider it in Finland.

easternmsot is norway, the top curls around sweden. vatican city is its own country actually, the "city" part in the name is confuzing howerver
