Sorry I have been slow all. I had 4 dislocated ribs which I just got put back into place today. That hurt like hell. I hope to make some progress real soon on this.

It can be as simple as picking up a pen... likely mine came from some odd move in basketballljex wrote:Wow that sucks, just out of curiosity how do you dislocate a rib?Bruceswar wrote:Sorry I have been slow all. Haha since none of us can dunk... that is not likely to happen.

NBA Playoffs are ongoing, once he moves onto the semis after beating the Miami Heat he should have some time to set this up...AgentSmith88 wrote:bruce, anyone home?

Well in that case, no worries. The way Dallas is playing Bruce will have a lot of free time soon...Bruceswar wrote:Gold Knight wrote:NBA Playoffs are ongoing, once he moves onto the semis after beating the Miami Heat he should have some time to set this up...AgentSmith88 wrote:bruce, anyone home?

Re: Clans "Majors and Minor" leagues
I'm not expecting a response back. Bruce seems to have semi-retired from CC. I have a good idea on how to run this as a tournament so that the winners can get a medal. I will flesh out the details a little more tonight and probably have it up sometime tomorrow. I will post a link here as soon as I do. We just need to make sure the link gets posted in most of the clan threads at that point. Unlike some of the suggestions, everyone who wants to participate will have to sign up at the beginning (no "free agents").
On a side note, I'm planning on letting anyone who is major or higher and has at least 3 team medals (any combination amongst dubs, trips, and quads) and is NOT a part of a clan to join. Anyone who is currently in a clan does not have any restrictions on entrance.

Re: Clans "Majors and Minor" leagues
Would need to make sure that the word gets out to clans before you post this if that is the crowd you're going for, as there are rules about the amount of spots that have to be open to the public...
But also look forward to this.

Re: Clans "Majors and Minor" leagues
Open to the public means that they signed up in the thread. However, I do not have to take everyone that signs up, or in the order they do so. This precedent has been set, so if a bunch of privates with no team experience sign up I am under no obligation to allow them in (although "The Tournament Directors reserve the right to deny privileges for your tournament if the tournament is deemed to break site or tournament rules, has an unfair structure, or has pertinent settings missing from the tournament description." and this format may be misconstrued as unfair). The only restriction listed in the rules is that no tourney can have a points restriction of greater than 2000 points. Not sure what I typed, but meant that you have to be at least a major (2000 points) for non-clan joiners.Gold Knight wrote:Would need to make sure that the word gets out to clans before you post this if that is the crowd you're going for, as there are rules about the amount of spots that have to be open to the public...

Could also use suggestions for names for the tourney. Drawing a blank at the moment.

Name it something around the idea of clan mix up / all star clan scrimmage.AgentSmith88 wrote:Could also use suggestions for names for the tourney. Drawing a blank at the moment.

Re: Clans "Majors and Minor" leagues
Hmmm. Do we get to see the layout before you go live with it? This is the first I've seen of this thread, it's interesting... (and yes, I read it all)
(I'm gong to try and summarize what was in the first few pages, and GUESS at the format you might pick)
1> People sign up in the tourney thread. 2000+ points or clan membership, ANY clan, to join in. Personally, I think using 2000, while legal, is a bit high... depends on the goal of this. to have a clan war tournament, or to show non-clan members what they're missing, and get new folks involved in clans?
2> as you sign up, list a map, and maybe cards/fort settings. maybe all settings.
3> Once a list of um... 80, 160, or 320 is signed up, compiled list is provided to team captains... probably the highest ranked 8, 16, or 32 clan members signed up.
4> Team captains draft off the list (by ranking the other players in order of preference... then random.org sorts the team captains, and snakedraft off their list, in order of availability ...this would be the fastest to get running, although setting up the list in the first place, and getting the captains to rank them, will be the hard part)
5> Teams of 10. Matches of 21, each 10 home settings, and 1 random map. winning team advances in bracket.
6> Maybe the winning team could... not swap, but pick up a player from the defeated team? So second round would be 23 games, etc. Wouldn't want to swap, or some players would end up dropped off the winning team through no fault of their own.
Interesting idea. If it's open enough to non-clan personnel, I like it. I'm not overly fond of the idea of anyone using tournament privileges for a cross-clan war, though. If it's used as a tool to get people interested in clans, I think it's a great idea... I suppose, as I said in #1, it depends on the goal of this event.
(freaky idea)How about a restriction of 2000+ points to non-clan members, and a CAP on the points of clan members? that'd be a twist, a good recruiting tool... of course, the cap would not apply to the team captains.
...sorry, I've been awake too long when I start coming up with ideas like these, and the tournament I just created (to be posted tomorrow)... I'm free-associating, pardon me if I've managed to insult anyone, I'm off to bed.
