Payment security

We've upgraded the secure encryption on the payment page to Thawte and there is now a neat little security seal from Thawte that confirms the page's validity (see beneath the form). We also fixed a bunch of security warnings that appeared in Internet Explorer. Although transactions on Conquer Club have always been super-secure this should make it more reassuring.


Share Conquer Club with ShareThis

We've added a neat little ShareThis icon to the top of each page. Using it to share Conquer Club content socially via email, myspace, twitter, etc. You can share the home page, a forum topic, even a particular game! You will also be able to see what your friends are sharing, which is pretty cool.


Conqueror rank icon

Although it didn't win the badge competition, the submission from RjBeals makes a great Conqueror rank icon, so we updated it. RjBeals get a Special Contribution medal for supplying this shiny new graphic and Conqueror rabbiton gets to wear it on his profile.

ShareThis throws a lot of errors in Firefox 3.6 - you might want to look into this.

New icon is good, somehow off the current style but I am sure people will get used to it.

Seems that way. Since the implementation of this new feature I have to wait much longer for every page to load and it's really irritating. And is anybody honestly going to 'Share This'? The impact it seems to have had is detrimental to what the majority of users come on here for.

Since ShareThis seems to be causing errors and slowing down page loads, I replaced it with AddThis. Works pretty much the same but seems quite faster to me

I never started out to make the conquerer rank icon. It was supposed to be for the name badges. And the resize down to 18x18 killed the detail I had in it. nevertheless - it is what it is. And thanks mibi

Hmmm, maybe I spoke too soon. Slightly faster perhaps, but still affecting the overall speed quite badly. The real problem I have with the 'Share This' feature is its location right in the corner where I move my cursor to expand or close my window(s). Every time it touches that darn tab there's a 5 second delay while the pop up appears. It's incredibly annoying and is quite unnecessary given the multitude of other places to put it (e.g. the left margin where things belong that have nothing to do with gameplay).

Not sure if this applies or not, but, when I win a game, the points take forever to go up on the scoreboard after I win and at times even 10 to 15 minutes later, they do not give me credit for the win and my points on the scoreboard have not gone up, I have not got credited for a few wins now that I am aware of, maybe more. However, when I lose, they go down immediately. Not sure if this implementation has anything to do with this, but thought I would bring it to your attention.

lol Blitz. Why am I not surprised that it's you who looks at the scoreboard after each win!

Just for info tho mate, the scoreboard only updates every hour so you won't always see an immediate change. I didn't know this until I just had a look and read the blurb at the top of the scoreboard page.
