I play all kinds of 2-player games, but they're not speed games...so it doesn't matter if someone starts a new 2-player game and then logs off without deleting them, in that case.PLAYER57832 wrote:Lately, it seems I have faced a spate of irritating opponents. That, which is more irritating?
Newbies who come, play a turn and then leave to "never never land"

Oh, not saying they are breaking rules or anything, particularly the logging off bit, I have done that some myself (just forget about a game, etc.). Its more the ones who wait until the very last turn, then leave with no notice, when they HAVE been playing "real time". Or, like I said, join a 2 player game and don't even bother to take their turn, when they have the first turn. But, I don't rate them down or anything, because there could be too many perfectly legitimate reasons. I would only rate down if they actually come out and say "F*** you, I quit" or some such (and even then, I mostly just don't rate them... I try not to give bad ratings any more because its just too hard to go back and edit and I don't like tagging someone as a bad player because they were in a bad mood on one game).Woodruff wrote:I play all kinds of 2-player games, but they're not speed games...so it doesn't matter if someone starts a new 2-player game and then logs off without deleting them, in that case.PLAYER57832 wrote:Lately, it seems I have faced a spate of irritating opponents. Well, I had premium for 2 years. And, I was pretty specific. The above irritated me even when I was premium. Did not hold me up from playing, but still..Agent 86 wrote:Freemiums annoy me when they complain..

Actually, what you described IS randomness. There is a common misconception that "random" should more or less mean "even" in way too short a time. In truth, you have to look at thousands and thousands of rolls to assess randomness. Also, the dice here are intentionally weighted, that is, the defender wins "ties", the attacker gets 3 dice, not 2. All of those make assessing randomness difficult for any human. But... for a better explanation, pick one of the many threads on this already.Agent 86 wrote:Actually the thing that is irratating me is the streakiness of the dice. Sometimes it's impossible for me to lose then other times it's impossible to win. Today it's the " cubes " of losses, tomorrow the " cubes " of can't lose a thing. It's not random, just depends on the day. Sometimes just don't log on if your first 3 games you run into nothing lower than 4's for 20 rolls. You can't tell me this is random.

Sure I can. In fact, it sounds very much like randomness to me.Agent 86 wrote:Actually the thing that is irratating me is the streakiness of the dice. Well now that's just crazy talk.PLAYER57832 wrote:CC is always on the lookout for improvements.

Team games absolutely do NOT "reduce the streak in the dice". In fact, that doesn't even make basic sense.Agent 86 wrote:Well as soon as my tourney games and singles games finish, I will only play team games from now on. This reduces the streak in dice. Woodruff, what team play are you talking about. Playing with yourself I presume. If you want to comment then show me your experience in this. Team play definitely helps take out the streakiness of dice ( cubes ) on this site.Woodruff wrote:Team games absolutely do NOT "reduce the streak in the dice". Doesn't really sound like much of a streak to me...Agent 86 wrote:I'm saying that in trips or quads that if one player gets the so called bad dice it can be evened up by his team mates who get favourable dice in the same game thus making it more entertaining and resulting in a different outcome. Takes the streakiness away![]()

Team games are like playing 1v1, except with more people. If one person gets crap dice, the game doesn't end with one crappy turn. In 1v1, getting one terrible turn usually spells doom. He is right only in the fact that it would take 4 people (in a quads game) all on the same team getting crappy dice to turn the tide.PLAYER57832 wrote:Doesn't really sound like much of a streak to me...Agent 86 wrote:I'm saying that in trips or quads that if one player gets the so called bad dice it can be evened up by his team mates who get favourable dice in the same game thus making it more entertaining and resulting in a different outcome. I don't need to know anything about team play to know this is a ridiculous statement. It doesn't even make basic sense.Agent 86 wrote:Woodruff, what team play are you talking about. Now, perhaps you are meaning something different than what you're saying, but the statement that team play helps to take out the streakiness of the dice makes no sense.
