It's survival of the fittest....I like the taste of chicken, steak and pork so I eat them....plain and simple. If a superior creature to me was to come into existance, wanting to hunt me for food, I would fight the creature to the best of my abilities and ultimatly accept my fate if I am eaten.

To Spuzzell: So what? Have you seen what the breeders do to the animals? They are not treated humanly and spend their life in a tight space in realy bad environments. I don't support that and thats why im a vegetarian.

It's easy to eat right as a vegetarian nowerdays. There are many products and many books and websites with info and advice. You don't need to eat meat, but you can't just live on fruit and vegetables. You need vitamins and minerals from pills. You also need protein from beans and other products.

Nah, that's bollocks. I've been veggie my entire life (so almost 25 years) - never taken any extra vitamins or minerals. And I'm a darn sight healthier than pretty much everyone I know who eats meat.

My partner's sister is a chef. She once told me the kindest way to kill a crab is to smash it with a mallet before you put it in the boiling water. I reckon maybe you could do that with a lobster's head.

I'm not a vegetarian, but I respect people who choose to be, that is their choice as an individual. The people I don't like are vegetarians who talk shit about people who aren't, one of my friends is like this. See these canines in my mouth? They aren't there for looks, it's because we are naturally omnivores. Thankfully I don't see any high and mighty vegetarians here

I'm also a hunter, but thats a whole different debate in which anti-hunters don't have a leg to stand on.

I was raised on a farm, and we own a cattle ranch now.
The best way to get grade A beef,or pork is to raise your own cows, pigs.
When they are just right, you take it to a butcher.
That way you know what your getting. You can tell them how you like your steaks cut and how lean you like it etc....
Also, you decide how much you want made into ground beef, and how many steaks. Same thing with pigs. It is also a lot cheaper. (If you have a freezer to hold it all.)
To get grade A chicken- We raise your own, and when they are ready for eating you wring their necks and then pluck em' and clean out the innards and cut them into parts, and freeze.
The best veggies are homegrown. (Yummy)
We always had a huge garden.
You can't buy no tomato better than homegrown.
This way you know what your eating and don't have to worry about all the yucky junk that can be put into your food.

I agree that animals don't deserve the same treatment as humans, but at the same time I believe that what we are doing to them now is absurd. Literally, every chicken is fed by having a tube forced down their throat and being filled with this oil-shit until their stomachs can no longer expand. It's an absolutely disgusting practice that should be stopped.

I'm not a veggie however I respect the people who are and even thinking of becoming one, when I grow up maybe because to produce the meat we need the animal and to grow the animal we need to use up food that we could've ate. Vegetarianism is good for the planet.

my mum is a vegetarian as she has an allergic reaction to meat, gets like this red rash all over her. and since she is the cook of the family we all basically eat like veggies, i dont mind, but i LOVE bacon. so whenever we go out to eat we all (except my mum of course) stuff ourselves silly with MEAT.

Crabs and lobsters cannot complain, they should have been born squishier if they desired a more gentle end. Alternatively they should have been born less delicious... that would have worked too.

I've stopped eating meat since this thread was first active. I did it in solidarity with my partner who did it for health reasons. We continue to eat fish and seafood, as many studies have shown that pescovegetarians tend to be somewhat healthier than vegetarians. Of course, diet isn't the sole determinant of health, but it's a big one.
