Yes, thanks thenobodies. You are a kind and benevolent ruler. Except, of course, for when you are trying to confuse and torment us each week! ;)

Ditto. 46 looked so familiar, but I was not able to figure it out. I also threw in the towel on 41, even though, from some of the posts, it sounded like it was just in the usual places, I couldn't find it.

This was a good round. 41 was super hard. Well done on that one. 46 made me laugh when I found it. That one was well chosen too. Look forward to future rounds.

I finally had to let this go with only 5 out of 10 answered, but I was getting nowhere and could spend any more time searching, especially when my link was running so slowly today. I know I will kick myself when I see the answers, and this surrender will no doubt put me out of the running, unless things go all my way in later rounds. Still, I will keep playing: you never know...

One thing that helped me find the maps was to turn down the resolution on my monitor. That way it made everything bigger and much easier to see the images now that they're smaller. Little hint in our fun competition ;)

Haha - just found my tenth map, but for some reason I had it in my head that I had until noon today to get them in. No points for me - looks like I'm out of it. Good luck, everyone :)

Maps Puzzle - Round 5 [Maps & Scoreboard]

Post by thenobodies80 »

Scoreboard updated! :)

It looks that the images 41 and 46 have created some problems .....
The map 41 was the hardest to find in my opinion, but I must admit that the number 46 could be misleading.

Anyway, as usually here below the images used in the 5th round for anyone who wants to guess (not officially) the right maps.
The correct answers are in the spoiler.

Which maps do the images belong to?

I got 41 and 46 out of sheer dumb luck. I had given up browsing Game Finder and the like and decided as a last-ditch to look over the maps I was presently playing. A much much closer look at Map 41 unconvinced me it was some script text (several maps have it), and instead reminded me of San Marino's towers. Map 46 I was convinced for the longest time was a rail map, then I pulled up the second game of the present queue and stare at bAGHdad. So I got all of them, somehow. Perhaps my mistakes of Round 1 and 2 won't come back to haunt me after all.

Well, after looking at the answers to Round 5, I can't believe that I didn't get #46. It seems so obvious when you see it outlined there but, from all the posts, looks like a lot of people had trouble with it so there must have been something about it. Never can tell, I guess.

#41 on the other hand... that one was diabolical. I can still barely recognize it even with the outline!

thenobodies, just to clarify...

All the maps used in the map competition seem like they can be found in the browse maps section or through game finder where St. Patrick's and Pearl Harbor are listed as "closed." I don't have the pm anymore that you sent of the other 2-3 places we could look but all the maps there look like they are simply repeats of the browse map section.

My question is are we (or am I) missing maps listed outside of what I stated above. Thanks

It wasn't a PM,just a post.
You should go back through the thread of a couple of pages to find it. ;)
Anyway, i quote that part for simplicity:
