The most underated top notch players in CC... ?

Wow-thanks for all the great compliments--much appreciated. Oh and danryan I would have mentioned you as one of the best if not the best of the escalating multi player master on Classic--especially in tourneys.

There are so many players that are considered great players in my opinion. The only reason they may be underated is they are not know by as many players as they could be.

Mageplunka - This guy you would think is shit. And for a log time I did. I would draw even with him in contests won or lost. But then I realized he was on every map and ALWAYS had a goood showing. Then 3 months ago I invited him to a few team games. This GUY CAN PLAY. I dont know why is rank stays there,,, I know he has an unbelievaqble rank on doodle and if he only played doodle tthen statistically he would be conqueror BY FAR.

Your argument lacks substance. The fact that he is highly rated on doodle all that means is he loses points on other maps. A while back if you remember i said i could be positive 1000 points on any map given a few months because all i would have to do is drive my rank down by playing other maps that i am bad at or that are luck based and then win more/lose less on the map in question and thus become positive points on that map. Also no one could ever become conqueror now from playing only the doodle earth map, too much luck is involved.

For your information i have played plenty of games both with and against him, he is a great teammate and always a great opponent. All I am saying is that because he gains points on doodle he loses points on other maps so that doesn't make him a great player.

Duh... stop ridiculing Ljex for not supporting the Mageplunka nomination... he was simply saying that being +20,000 on doodle earth means absolutely nothing, which is entirely correct.

Anyhow-- title is misleading as there's a big difference between underrated and under-ranked. For instance in my previous post in another thread, Incand is extremely underrated ( by his peers ) but also under-ranked as far as score is concerned. A lot of posts are merely pointing out a player's current score which we all know doesn't mean all that much. Simply a measurement of points at a specific game type during a point in time. ( No way do I take anything away from specializing in a certain game type as it does require quite a bit of skill to excel at it or should I say not everyone can excel at it even if they tried. ) So when I describe someone as underrated, my interpretation is that player excels at all game types he plays and doesn't get the recognition from his/her opponents.

This is what I meant to say when this thread initially came out... I said that the thread was, "stupid," but edited it to say, "odd," so that it wouldn't be mean to AoN. Anyhow, Scott-Land put it very eloquently by saying that there is a difference between underrated and under-ranked. Obviously, me saying JR24 (a lieutenant) is underrated is ludicrous... we all know how good he is. He is, however, under-ranked, thus exemplifying how different these two classifications are.

Oh, and I'll admit, I was one of the many that used to hate on Herpes - not because I'd actually played him, but because everyone else ripped him. Then my clan (Agents of Chaos) faced his in the Conquerors Cup and I was extremely impressed with Herpes' play. That cat knows how to win on any map with the best of them.

like i said before, thank all for all the support, i DO know the maps, and i can win them....the doodles are like a addiction and a easy win. i dont lose alot of other games, but the majority of my active games are casual assassin, i really do not care about rank, its about the fun. like lookin for a good hottie, like alex, to take home from the bar ...you play 100 casual ass games at one time while playing other games and see how low you go..its fn crazy .plus it sucks to be colonel....a bad drop to a low rank and pow there they go

I actually agree with you about magepunka being an underrated player as his rank does not indicate his skill, i just disagree with you when you say his positive points on doodle is why he is so skilled and that if he only played doodle he would be conqueror.
