I have proposed a possible additional 3 or 5 rounds for the preliminary round of this tournament, in order to forestall the potential logjam of 2 or 3 pt ties that will happen with only 28 pts available. 10 rounds would give us 40 pts, 12 would give us 48 and I think I favor 12 rds. It's only 1 game per week, so really not a gameload issue.

I like 10 as well, just to move this a little faster. Maybe throw in a rule like "If there are [x] or more people tied at the end of 10 games, the first round will be extended by 2 games before the tiebreaker begins." Just a thought.

Given the feedback, I've extended the tournament to 10 rounds. This probably means it's going to last about 3 months because I can't start rounds until the previous one has ended. I don't mind because I'm patient and it sounds like everyone else is too.

If he doesn't join I'll remake it as 6 man and kick him from the tournament. From now on I'll give players one chance to join and then start dropping them. I won't make any games less than 6 man since it changes gameplay too much.
