Repeating spoils?

Post by aaronautic »

When you cash spoils in for a specific region, does the spoil for that region go to the bottom of the stack or are you just as likely to collect it again after cashing?

The reason for my question is that I am playing in a nuke game. I have cashed spoils in which neutralized a particular territory. Will this make that territory a "safe" zone at least for a while? ... or even for the rest of the game? My thinking is that once cashed, a spoil goes to the bottom of the deck so to speak as with a board game.

NOPE, i have cashed in (example) a blue brazil card and after i have ended the turn , i have received a brazil card in a different color. I was amazed by this the first time i saw this. Which leads me to my belief that games actually have a bit of predetermination in them and are not 100 percent random.

Thanks for the info, never knew that cards for a territory could change colours within a single game...

The cards are dealt out randomly as the game goes on, and the color of the card is random too. But if all the territories have been drawn, then the game engine "opens" a new deck of cards, and all the territories are up for grabs again. So yes, if you nuke a region on a relatively large map, then you will probably be safe for awhile, but if you're playing doodle, then in a lrage game several people can have that same card.

This is nonsense.. all cards were not drawn at time of cash.

What he means is that if for example in doodle there are 18 regions...so in a 6 player game if everyone has 3 spoil means 18,so the next spoil the 19th will be a repeated spoil.

But if for example in the example the guy changes 3 spoils(more russia, canada, usa),that means 15 spoils between all the players. So the next 3 spoils that will be given if no one changes spoils. will be more russia, canada & usa not in any particular order

outside of doodle nuke, when you hold a card, that it most likely the most safe territory, as long as you are not forced to bomb it..

Thanks for that. This is what I suspected and assumed.
