Help!! How do you win games?

Post by TheGeneral »

I've been playing Conquer Club for a little while now and after an initial run of wins I worked my way up to a Sergeant fairly quickly, but am now languishing as a Private in the potato peeling hut with my points fast disappearing every time I play a game.

Now I know the simple answer to gain points is to win a game, but what are the best games for picking up points? Sequential? Freestyle? 3 player? 6 player? Are some games easier to win than others?

I'm a play once or twice a day in my coffee break, so don't get to play many. Any helpful suggestions welcomed please before I give up and take up talking to my colleagues at work during my coffee breaks?

i have a suggestion that has worked for me. find a good partner for doubles and play 4 player doubles games. also find a map that has worked for you in the past and you know some good ways to win on it.

the easiest way to play would be calssic 6 player seq, escalating, unlimited (freestyle double turns is better if you have no life)

the math works out well for gaining points but there is much more luck involved than skill I find. Move in round 7 or 8 and you win the game ;)

There's no easiest way to play technically, since you're playing against people the difficulty depends on your opponents. Some games might be more difficult to pick up than others, but you seem to have the hang of the game anyway.

As the difficulty depends on your opponents it's easier to play against fewer opponents, so doubles and triples games give you a greater chance of winning (though less points). Similarly for 3 player games.

However this affects your win rate not your points so much.

Another thing which makes doubles and triples easier is that deadbeats drag 2 players down instead of 1, and you may well get points off the one that does play. Of course that's a disadvantage to you too if you don't have a regular partner.

Also as Twill said, if you have no life you can turn it to your advantage by playing double turns games.

But really I wouldn't worry about winning too much. Have fun, that's more important... unless you're playing wicked, in which case you must win.

But seriously try to enjoy it, whatever the outcome.

yea practise on escalate, because if you know the right times to get armies from cards, you get a stupidly large amount of armies and you can finish the game suddenly in 1/2 turns

escalating will give you more games to practice in if your only playing 4 games at a time

Does it make a difference if you cash in 3 cards of the same colour or 3 of a different colour?

I guess that question may be answered in the forum somewhere. I'll have a look unless someone replies sooner.

Thank you.

Not in an escalating game. Only in flat rate does the color make a difference. More info located here, under 'Bonus Cards'.

never give up on a game. run and play for your cards if you have to. try to take away there counterys. just take one and back off sometimes it can give you a round to think of something. lol stay with it you will get better. it is always darkest just before light!
