Multi account for assassin?

I know this is a stupid question, but I'm gonna ask anyway.

I'm the kind of person who cares about my score (yeah, I'm a sad geek, I know) anyway, I want to play assassin games but at the moment I seem to be atrocious at them, and they will totally wreck any score I can get from winning other games.

Is it possible to have an account that I can play assassin games (and try other new things) on and another for standard games where I can try and keep a good score.

I will make it clear that I own both accounts and obviously won't play them against each other. I am prepared to pay for premium membership for one (or maybe both) accounts if that will allow me to do this.

Ok. Seems a bit of a silly rule though, especially as the points system doesn't take game type into account.

Do people actually think it's sensible to rate something like freestyle terminator games with escalating cards, using the same points as you do for sequential assassin with no cards? the two are completely different games with different strategies!

I guess I'll just stick to sequential flat rate standard games.

The rule isn't silly at all. It's so people don't manipulate the scoring system to get one of their accounts to a high score. Do it the old fashioned way!

OK, firstly I'd like to say that I'm not trying to be some cocky newbie crapping all over the carpet, you clearly have a lot more experience playing here than me and obviously know a lot more about the community than me, but here is why I see the rule is silly:

The aim of the rule is to prevent people artificially infalting their score, however if your goal was to artificially increase your score then you need to make sure that nobody knows you have the multiple account (or it's obvious cheating)

Changing the rule to 'no undeclared multiple accounts' and perhaps setting up a maximum accounts to 3 or 4, achieves the desired effect (I think). But it means people can have different acounts to play different game types with.

The only difference between the two rules that I see is the first one means I can't play assassin, freestyle, or just try out new things without wrecking my score for standard games.

You didn't comment on whether you think rating a freestyle terminator escalating game and a sequential no card assassin game on the same points made sense? Do you think it makes sense, because I don't.

I don't understand what you mean by 'do it the old fashioned way'?

The rules are the foundation of the site. No multiple accounts means just that. If you really care about your score, and if your score drops when you play assassin games, then just don't play them. But if you make more accounts to practice, then you will get yourself banned.

im kinda new also but i will tell you no matter what that rule will not change. They will never let multiple accounts for anyone. But i think you should ask for is non ranked games(Not sure if it was asked already). Wher eyou can play games that dont affect your score. Ya know what i mean?

Just win the games with your one account.

Or if you care about score so much, get a good partner and play lots of doubles. And go premium.

Yes, that would be good. It would let me practice the games before I played them properly. (Which is by far my most important concern)

It still doesn't fix the fact that the rating system rates games that are totally different against each other which is a completely invalid rating, but I seem to be the only one that cares about this so I'll shut up, and just ask politely for it to be possible to play non rated games.

Dude. Really man, just take your lumps. I care about my score too, but that doesn't stop me from playing in assassin games, in which I'm 1-6 in. Show some balls, and learn by doing, and it will make it all the better when you start winning.

The rule is perfect. Your score shows how much you have learned and grown. It has a games to score ratio. If you have another account to "practice" on, then your score would be false. Even if you did go premium for both accounts, you would be misrepresenting your ability. Play, learn, and worry about your score when it is REALLY high. If you are worried about your score more than having fun, then you should probably see a shrink about your obssesive disorder.

No it would be representative of my abillity when I felt I understood the game and strategies enough to play competently, and wouldn't be distotred by silly mistakes like not realising that the ports can attack each other on the Phillipenes(sp?) map.

A shrink can't help me I'm afraid, I'm autistic and it's not exactly cureable. It's just really painful to have won a game and be in a good position in another, just to watch my score drop below 1000 again as soon as I lose these two assassin games I'm getting slaughtered in. Especially as I see my score should represent my actual skill at the game and shouldn't be effected by my lack of understanding of some point(s)

As I've clearly stated above I don't think the rating system is valid because of the games being different types, but the rest of you seem to see the rating system in a different way to me and think it's fine so like I said above it's probably best for me to shut up about this point, I'm not going to change my mind, but I'm clearly not going to change yours either.

Anyway I have a big pile of undergraduate coursework to mark so I'm going to shut down he computer else I'll be here discussing this all night, and will still have a big pile of marking to do tomorrow.

This is where you're losing me. Isn't your lack of understanding of some points part of your skill or lack thereof?

Why worry so much anyway? Say you play a few assassin games and lose them all. At this point, two things can happen: either you get better or you don't. If you get better, your points will come back. If not, you can either stop playing them and win your points back elsewhere or you continue playing them, in which case they will continue to show your skill.
