How do you decide which one?!

Okay so in my opinion, you usually pick a clan you really want to be in for a while. It's a loyalty and respect thing not to jump around. I am also of the understanding that some clans are harder to get into than others.So first how can you decide which one? Is there like a list of the standing bi-laws for each clan? Second, if a person really wants to be in a clan but doesnt think clan hopping is the best way to do so, does that individual just wait until they are considered good enough for the better clans? I'm new to the CC clan deal so pls be gentle if Im totally noobing in regards to clan stuff.

I will take this one.... If you really want to be in Clan X wait until you are ready for them. Some are harder than others to get into. When you apply each clan will tell you what they need from you. Some will want more experience while others would take you on now and try to help you learn from them. The way to pick a clan is not by how good or not good a clan looks, but pick a clan where you think you can fit in with the people already in it. Teamwork is the more important part of a clan. If you do not fit well with them, then you are wasting your time no matter how good a clan looks.

Right Brucie but how can I tell how good or not good a clan looks baby? I mean I see a list of names but I couldn't tell ya the first thing about any of 'em! Well except that you have one but I only know that bc I know ya. lol

Bruce is right on here. If you don't know members of a certain clan, don't worry about that clan. If you want to get to know them, join some games with members from the clan. There is a clan script you can add-on that tells you what clan everyone is in, so when you search public games, you can see who is out there. You can also read some of the clan forum for active challenges or archives and see a bit of a clan's personality through that as well. When all else fails, ask around. Clearly you know Bruce, and Bruce knows about most clans on the site and can give you an opinion of where he thinks you would fit in.

I'd say looking for team-games with (or even against) players from the clans you're looking to join is a good start. It's how I got into my first clan (The Regulators), though that was more a case of me playing a lot of a certain type of games, and just happening to play with/against some players quite a lot.

Clan-hopping is never a good idea, but as long as you don't treat any other clan but the ultimate prize as just a stepping stone, you shouldn't avoid joining "lesser" clans.

I might not be the best one to give advice on this, given that I've been in a grand total of two clans, and I left the first one essentially because it imploded

the script is fine. You can update it yourself at any time by clicking the "compile clans" button. Then it changes the players that have joined/switched/dropped out of clans. The ONE thing it doesn't show is new clans that have started since the last script update, and as far as I know, the ONLY new clan is cayman's (Knights of the Future), which based on your OP is not what you're looking for.

he's right killing. New clans don't appear until the next update. The only thing you can do with Compile Clans is update what clan each player is in

Well, as part of Brucie's clan, I'll speak for some of us and say that I think we'd need to see a profile pic of you with fewer clothes on to determine your suitability, compatibility, and meshability with the rest of us.

I lucked into my clan with little team experience. I just happened to be playing with a guy from Agents of Chaos in a Map Blaster tourney and he recommended me - he has since left, I must smell bad.

Now, though, I know a lot of clans - not all - but some require certain amounts of medals for team play.

You have a dubs silver, but nothing in triples or quads. You also have only played 600+ games, despite joining more than a year ago - that would be fine if you mainly played team games - but if I was a clan leader, I'd be concerned about an apparent lack of activity.

I think you should look mainly at Division 2B clans, unless Bruce has a better idea.

No offense to any "2B" or Division 2 clans as you call them, however thanks but no thanks. And sure I joined over a year ago. I have reasons for not having played up until recently but thats all RL stuff. From what I have gathered I guess whenever a person is "good enough" to be in a certain clan, that clan will probably approach them about it anyhow; making this all a moot point I suppose. Such a shame. Clans are missing out on some badass ppl

That's cool. There is nothing stopping you from applying to Div1 clans either. Gotta try otherwise you will never know.

Though many clans want a certain amount of team game experience, a lot of clans will let you join a few of their team games and see how you play. We just let someone in who didn't have much team experience. I personally learned after denying Dako from our clan and sending him over to Chariot of Fire and TOFU that it is a mistake to go solely off of games played. Actually, a few of the most recent members of our clan had little team experience. We feel we can teach excellent team play, and it's better to start with less bad habits.

I think your best move is to select 5 or 6 clans that you think you might be interested in. You won't know until you play some with them. Seek out some of their players to join games with or against and see if you can strike up a friendship. You'll be on the fast track from there.

That's true to a point, but there are a lot of people who just don't get noticed.

I'm sure that's true, but a lot of those "badasses" play primarily games that don't transfer over to the clan sphere, like 1v1, freestyle, or 8 player standard games (though 8 player escalating is a great skill to have under your belt).
