The small version

The big version

Number of countries: 156

I think this map would be good for big games (triples and such)

Let me know what you think

too many countries too few continents.
and why do blue and violet have the same bonus? blue has 4 borders and vilet has 13
the idea needs a lot of work.

maybe the vowels can attack eachother, maybe split each alphabet in smaller parts. at the moment the playability is very slim.

nobody will be able to hold a continent.

don't be mean to him look at my first maps and see what horrible things i did and now after only 5-6 days i'm able to do something nice.
i think any new idea has potential but that potential has to be harnessed and sculpted.

to be perfectly honest i dont think this is the best idea 4 a map...letters and numbers make rather dull territories. there are a bunch of great ideas in the idea thread if you really want to make a map.
Do you need an excuse to have a war? I mean, who for? Can't you just say "You got lots of cash and land, but I've got a big sword, so divy up right now, chop chop."

puff forget about paint. you won't make a decent map. go to Map Making tool thread and start using some of those programs. even if a map has a great idea nobody will want it if it has bad graphics.

after you learn how to make a beautiful image think of the gameplay.

asks yourself.
1. would i play this map?
2. is it balanced?
3. what strategy options do i have?
4. is it fit for all game types (standard assasin team, etc)?

your map at the moment has no appeal. besides the graphics the gameplay sucks. a bunch of letters that attack eachother, no continents no bonuses no impassable borders.

1. Its not paint (I decided not to use it). Though I do agree its (the map) a far....far cry from other maps.
2. I'll work on the graphics and try some MORE of the tools avalable (I am now using combine MS publisher and Adobe Photoshop)
3. Once I have that I'll work on strategies.
4. Even though it sucks now I will like people to look at it and I will post the new version in this thread.

Thanks for the tips I'll work on it

i don't know about ms publisher but photoshop is very good and you can definitely improve the graphics. just try every tool you have experiment a lot and see what you get. and most importantly be patient. check out the Map Making Tips & Tricks thread.

about the gameplay. this needs a lot of work, maybe even more than the graphics.

try something different.

imagine the map as a bowl of alphabet soup with letters floating around and forming various words. each letter is a country and each word a continent. do attacking routes and create some impassable borders (like noodles or a spoon or even ripples in the soup)

now imagine how that would look like and what a nice gameplay it would have. add a face of a dumb kid reflecting in the soup and you have a master piece.
