Its when things turn towards bigotry that we step in. CC wont tolerate people throwing around the n word and words like fag etc. heck i wont tolerate...there is no need for it at all. Those people are the lowest of low around here imo.
If you really feel the need to swear to get your point across well thats who you are. And so be it...just keep it cleanish and unpersonal and no bigotry and you have no worries

I know that this thread is at least partially sardonic, but actually, I think this is a very good idea. The best way to enforce a rule against bad language is to have an explicit list of what is and is not allowed, because with multiple moderators governing this, there could be cases of inconsistency. Of course, as is shown here, people can get quite creative with their language, but there are vulgar words that are used often enough such that at least for those, we can determine which ones are allowed and which ones are not. I hope that something useful does come out of this thread.

Personally, I do like a good bit of smack talk, it always livens things up, and seeing as this is the interwebz, no one should take it too seriously. I don't think that swearing and "bad" language do show that you lack a sufficient vocabulary to insult your opponent in other ways, so long as you don't rely on a long list of obscenities, rather than a few to spice things up.

Bigotry and racism on the other hand I cannot tolerate. While the actual use of "racist" or "bigoted" terms such as nigger and fag may, in some circumstances be ok, none of those circumstances are on the internet, as it is hard to tell what is meant when there is no tone of voice or facial expression.
