Yes, that is possible. Also, when you type into inbox the slider should adjust as well, it should have been working in the version i sent to lack.ljex wrote:I like version c the best, but you could improve it if you could click on the line and it would auto adjust to whatever amount of troops that would be

This makes perfect sense to me. Default with one of them, but have the option.Yeoha wrote:You have already made the code for all of them, so why not let people choose which they prefer as a setting?

equalpants wrote:Oh, god, not version C. (No offense!) A slider is much worse than a listbox if you only have a small number of choices. I can see how C would be better for some of the maps with really large bonuses, where precision is less important (who cares if you accidentally drop 399 somewhere instead of 400), but it would be a nightmare for "normal" maps, where you need 1 army here, 2 armies there, 4 more over there, etc. It would be especially painful for speed games on those maps.
The text box in C makes up somewhat for the imprecision of the slider, but you have to switch back and forth between mouse/keyboard to use it, which is awkward and annoying because every other action requires mouse only. Listbox is only two clicks if you're getting less than 15-20 armies; can't do much better than that. And even if you're getting a large amount, scrolling the listbox is only slightly more annoying than dragging the slider.
Listbox and slider might be the best of both worlds. Or maybe even combobox + slider.

Uh, yeah--hence my second paragraph (which you quoted!).Bruceswar wrote:You do know with C you can also type a number you want to drop in the box.
i like the original... but as others are saying, if they are coded why can't we choose the setting in our control menu?-the black jesusnatty_dread wrote:Make them all optional.

Unless you move it slowly it will always loose focus. Or it needs some extra wrap space where it will not loose focus.sherkaner wrote:I like the slider, but with this slider you can loose focus very easily. If I click on it and move it to the end (and over) quite fast, I expect it to hit the max, but in this example it's usually quite a bit lower. Kinda annoying.

Hmm, I don't think that's true. Though it's heavy to use, if you look at the slider demo of jquery UI ( http://jqueryui.com/demos/slider/#hotelrooms ), you'll see that you can just hold the click and move anywhere on the page, and if you're in range the slider will move along.Dako wrote:Unless you move it slowly it will always loose focus.
