I didnt mean for you guys to have to create the policies. Im saying there are several paths we could take in how to enforce this....Ie do we code it so someone cant invite to public games. Do we create a discipline tool to ban people from inviting to games. If they abuse this power. Look im definately saying what he is doing is clearly not right. But my hands are tied in that there is no rule or policy on that. You have to take my word that all of team cc is working on what is the best solution (not just the hunters)

The following are the the three main options, in my humble opinion. If there are other good options, please let them be known!


Option 1: Code it so that it's impossible to invite opponents to public games
Issue(s):
(a): There are some innocent CC players who would be inconvenienced by this addition
(b): It would not necessarily stop the abusers. In the case of Klobber, he could just make the games private and do the exact same thing


Option 2: CC admin decides who is to be punished for abusing the system.
Issue(s): It may put too much power in the hands of the admin, because it is difficult to create a clear set of rules that define what abuse of the invite system is. If a player is found guilty of abuse, the player will be immediately stripped of the privileges that allow him to invite players to the opposing team (even for private games)! This could be either a temporary or permanent ban, but that isn't really the issue with this option; the real problem would be that it is difficult to truly define abuse of the system, and that CC admin might have a little to much power. In my opinion, both Emmdizzle and Klobber would qualify as having abused the system. In the future, players who do what they did should first receive a temporary ban from inviting opponents; If they abuse it just one more time, they are permanently banned from inviting opponents.


Option 3: CC does absolutely nothing. Emmdizzle and Klobber are cleared, as are any future "abusers" of the invite system. Each time, there is public outcry, but in the end, people realize that CC doesn't give a flying f*ck about the general public.
Issue(s): More than obvious, and I'm not going to take the time to spell them out for you.




Of the three, my choice would be #2... it puts a little too much power in the hands of the admin, but it is far more effective than option 1. We will simply have to trust that CC makes the right ruling. Option 3 is so far out of the quetion that it barely bears mentioning...

CC doesn't even have to punish Emmdizzle and Klobber right now. All it needs to do is come out and say that any future abuse of the invite system, as determined by a combination of public outcry and admin judgment, is to be punished first by a temporary ban from inviting opponents; if it happens again, it is a permanent ban from doing so.

These bans should include private games, as it is possible to abuse the invite system that way as well. Plus, not being able to invite friends to private games is a big disadvantage; it would give people even more incentive not to abuse the system in this way.

You can not fight him on it because he foes anyone who beats him

Although, perhaps if Cooks were warned directly about this activity or by the Society it might lessen the effectiveness of his actions

in the cases brought before C&A there was no rule against Klobbers farming. Now if only i could make it so its abuse then its another cookie, but thats a very difficult debate.

Klobber just invited me to play with a cadet as my teammate against him. I left this on his wall:

"Thanks for the invite, but I don't want to play with cook fetus1920 as my teammate" (actually he's a cadet, my bad)

this one took me a while to get my head around. i believe klobber is not just inviting people. I mean if he does invite every single noob in the CC database, well more power to him.really. farming low levels has been deemed fine and dandy and i think its reprehensible, but still within the confound of the game. after all they are not forced to enter the game... there is choice involved, and that is klobbers choice as well as those who join through the invite.
I feel its different when you have a public game as opposed to a private game. With the private game you can only invite people, if they refuse or keep refusing the game will not fill up. thats a huge hassle. Klobber is not inviting people to teamgames but even if a noob sees his partner.e.g. me, he might think okay lets give it a spin. I decline, obviously, i have no intention of playing those type of games at this time, so a spot is open.
because klobber games are public, his open game will go to the top of the list and noobs will join the open spots.. and because klobber already made sure almost every team was filled half with noobs, no true fighting team can come by and give a sound trashing. So he is using the invites as a way of sealing of the games to the general(more experienced) public.

One way to stop this would be for all those players with rank to accept the invites and then beat him at his own game. There have been comments in here about his ability to play the game, so prove that he sucks and beat him. When he realizes that he has to play games with "QUALITY" opponents maybe he will change his ways or come up with something different. He know that the higher ranked players that he invites will most likely decline the invite so it opens up to the public and then the cooks start marching in.

And for the record I don't see him inviting players as abuse, cheap yes but not abuse.

he invited me too -- along with 2 other generals in other teams. I considered for a couple of minutes whether to join or not, and to have an agreement with the other generals. But the problem is that, then I could be accused of secret diplomacy.

You know, I'm pretty confident that bones and I don't see eye-to-eye all that often, but this time we do. It's this kind of flip, "you guys figure it out" response from Team CC that we've come to know and love. And yeah, I'll pass on teaming with the cook with zero wins in 19 completed games. That doesn't sound like fun to me.

TBH, yes that is the problem. He doesnt leave an opportunity to face a "established team" but instead invites low ranked players to one slot of each team so that the high ranked teams that can bring him down arent able to. This is not to say that all low ranks are poor at the game, an example could be said of Blitz's Peleponnesian Quad games. Low ranked teammates that can follow advice of a player's one strategy: any player can be a guinea pig as long as they listen. Again, not saying theyre all bad players, but I would think that if they didnt have a leader like Blitz, Klobber, Emdizzle, etc, they would not be nearly as successful, which is a compliment to these players who can get players to win no matter theyre skill.

But the players that Klobber usually invites are players that dont play team games, dont communicate in chat, or just flat out dont play at all. I see recently he's taking a "step up" by inviting Corporals and the company of those ranks, most likely to try to cover tracks...

To be honest I agree, its an invite that can be accept OR declined, and its the players choice to accept. But I think this is more of an "intent" to abuse the invite system, in that he's doing this on purpose to ruin the experience for those who do join his games.
