Here's the deal. Mountains are in a lot of maps, and I see a lot of new map makers struggling with the graphics on the mountains. I for one love to look at good looking mountains, I love to paint, and I love to force people to look at my artwork. SO, if you are working on a map and are having trouble with the mountains I will do them for you. All you have to do is ask via PM, and give me a copy of map files, and I will do the rest for you! How's that sound? You don't even have to credit me.

Hehe, mountain shop. Nice idea. =D>

A thing you need to remember though, different mountains for different maps... not all styles of mountains fit on all styles of maps. You'll need to consider if a map needs mountains from the top perspective or the side perspective, if they should be realistic or abstract, etc...

Oh I know! I look forward to using this as a chance to experiment.

Maybe you could put up some samples.
You are quit right about mountains being a difficult thing to do.

Those are some impressive mountains. Perhaps my baseball field could use some...

Beautiful mountains. =D>
What I'd really like to see is this knowledge shared in some way with others....put your effort and your good skill in a small tutorial using your examples would be nice. ;)

The problem with mountains is that while it is generally easy to find aesthetically pleasing mountains, the problems typically come when trying to make them fit a specific map.

That said, they are very nice mountains :P

That is the challenge. If you are interested I'd love to take a swing at the mountains on your Mexico map. Perhaps a variation of Tiny Mt.s or Classic Rockies. ;)

Does the wonderful Bison King just do mountains? Because I'm thinking... franchise, baby, franchise:
  • Bison King's Wood Shop
    Bison King's River Shop
    Bison King's Grass Shop
    Bison King's Bikini Shop
... etc.

In all seriousness, my graphical skills are fairly amatuer, and I've got plans to do a series of Civil War maps that will rely heavily on terrain. Unfortunately, none of them involve mountains, just aggressive hills... are you willing to open up other shops?

Hill's are pretty much mountains are they not? ;)

Yeah, I'm intrigued.

You are like the frickin Van Gogh or Da Vinci of mountains! Just don't go choppin' off an ear or somethin' crazy. You should have an all-encompassing "Terrain Shop". Unfortunately for me, no type of terrain will really work on a Parcheesi board...
