Okay, I had one player not respond and 3 games that had to be remade... so why do I have FORTY-FOUR games not started?

I'm going through the list and sending invites and reminders NOW. C'mon, folks. let get these games running!

---EDIT: reminders sent. Oddly, the majority of them seem to be people who started to join games, got anywhere between one and all-but-one joined, and got distracted or missed a link. 's cool, just check and make sure you got them all next time.

Other issues are being worked on, but I expect we'll be rolling, or almost completely so, by tomorrow.

All first-wave games are now running, and we have zero reserves. But we're rolling.

Due to the delay in starting some first-round games, an every-other-week schedule is looking more likely, but no decision will be made until Monday afternoon.

161 of 162 first round games running... Some of this is due to a third of them not starting until Friday.

As such, Wave 2 will go out NEXT week. Wave 3 will be TWO weeks after 2. So new games are now Expected on Aug 16-17 and Aug 30-31. The Second round will begin whenever I can determine those who advance from Round 1 unambiguously. I would not expect that in less than 3 weeks from the last games going out, could be a bit longer, but the round limit will keep it from being something ridiculously long.

Some games are finishing up now... not enough yet to give any meaningful numbers, particularly as everyone hasn't played an identical-looking game load. But the score of finished games will be posted to the schedule/scoring link in a few minutes, I'm still recording them.

Barring any major unusual issues, we will have new games out this week, probably this Tuesday.

EDIT: Okay, ankle is NOT broken (yay) so no hospitalization required, just the suffering of pain while it heals. Games will be out tomorrow afternoon/evening.

Also, when updated, the score sheet will have one other new feature, on the bottom left. There are 3132 points TOTAL earned by all finishers in ALL games in a single round. (maximum of 286.5 to a player for a 1st place finish in every game, so don't get too depressed just yet)

I've added two cells that should give some indication of how far advanced the round is, by showing the total number of points recorded to the score sheet out of that 3132... it took about 30 seconds to code onto the sheets, so it was deemed a worthy idea. Note that while this feature is on MY sheet, it won't show up on the web until I upload the revised version. (tonight) The furthest advanced division right now is Bravo, and they're only at about 10% of first-round points recorded, so we have a ways to go.

Also, for those leery about clicking on the link because it's Google Documents: I've learned more since last time... this sheet is published publicly to the web, you do NOT need a google account or login to view it.

So far, no epic disasters in making this set of 162... I did send out a wrong password to one game, but caught it for most folks... there is one player who will join a few games slightly late, as I somehow DELETED their PM with all the passwords, rather than fixing it (oops), it's been re-sent. One other player will be joining over the weekend, he's out of town. No other speed-bumps yet, but not all messages have been received.

Will edit here with details on any other problems when I get home from work tonight.

Okay... whew! Finished a score update, it'll be uploaded in about a minute.

Alpha is 29.7% completed with round 1;
Bravo, 36.9% complete;
Charlie 35.9% complete.

Those figures don't take into account partially-completed games.

New games will, barring electrical disaster like I had around here last week, be coming out tomorrow and/or wednesday.

I anticipate being able to call the advancing players of round one by the end of September, given the rate at which games are completing. It might happen a week or so before or after that, but I don't think it can take MUCH longer... (and don't see how it can happen much faster, either)

EDIT: Tuesday Night, 11pm local: alpha group is out. charlie definitely tomorrow, bravo... could be either. I need a break first, though, either way.

Okay, all round 1 games have been sent out for all divisions, schedule updated for that.

Oh, and just yesterday, I finally figured out how I SHOULD have made the schedule work to balance all weeks out to 10 or 11 games, which idea I had given up on back in wave one. Amazing what some sleep will do for you... oops. Well, I'll get that in for the next round. The finals are scheduled differently, with only nine players, so I'm not sure it's possible there. I'll have to look, but it sounds unlikely.

Quick note to self in case I forget it again: 9 subdivisions of 3. 3 get the short end in 8-player games (11 games that week, with full 7 and 4 schedules); 3 get the short in 7-player games (10 games, with full 8 and 4), and 3 get the short in 4-player (10, full 8 and 7)

Okay, minor errors in Bravo and Charlie games... My problem always seems to be in the 7-player games (yes, I checked Alpha... they came out fine, go figure).

In each case, it involved sending a set of 3 seven-player games to one group of players in error... including myself in Charlie division...

So, those three games in each case had to be remade, bringing the total of muffed games to 9 of 486 in the first round. Which, while about 2%, is still 9 too many to keep me happy. *sigh*

(Technically, I am remaking 6 games in Charlie, but only 3 had started)

Do our points from the first round carry over to the second round? Or does everyone start fresh at 0 once we make the first cutdown to 27?
