What about the parking lot, golf cars?

Most of your territories don't have any borders or any other indicators of connections.
Also what are hazards? You can't expect all the players to be familiar with golf terms.

As for the roads, I can't tell which territories they are supposed to connect, they just seem to sort of end abruptly.

You also rely too much on the legend to explain the territory connections. Most of the connections should be clear by looking at the actual map, not so that you have to read some tiny text to know what connects where.

it says that pretty clearly

I does, but jeez... You really should show the connections as best you can on the map.

i get it

You should probably say what a hazard is too, because people who don't play golf probably don't know.

Dammit! I ran the risk of not reading the posts on this page and paid the price.

Fixing the hazard problem was a piece of cake. What's dificult is showing what connects to what. I have an idea, I hope I can post the draft by Saturday.

Alright I tried to show the connections as best as I could. Any other ways to fix the connection problems would be great.

FIXED:
    Cart Paths
    Connections (a bit)
    hazard definition

TODO:
better connections while maintaining good graphics
    fringe texture

If you like the whole highlight idea, I can do it in another color also. I added arrows where the highlighting wasn't adequate. I can also just pitch the whole highlight idea. Your thoughts?

Hi RFG...wow, it's really coming along. IMHO, I'm not nuts about any of the shading patterns so far. Could you thin the fairways a little, make the tee box the same color as the fairway, and then put a darker green area that encloses the entire hole from behind the tee box to around the green? You know, kind of like the first cut of rough.

Just a thought.

Im not quite sure what you mean for the first cut of rough. And any suggestions for the highlighting/clarity?

Things done:
-changed colors
-got rid of highlighting
-traced over golf carts and beer carts because they were just pictures
-thinned fairways
To do:
-add clarity

i disagree with these guys man... in the legend eexplain what the borders are, like cart paths or whatever.. and explain the order of the shots, like tee to 1st shot to second to hole...

then take those black things off.

you know a guy that regularly pulls off crazy different maps like this is cairns.. I would not be ashamed If I were in your shoes to send him a message and ask him for thoughts.

This looks great to me, I think the black arrows clutter it a little though.

I didn't read the whole thread but I assume you have seen this attempt at a gold map that stalled.

Wonderful - what's done so far w/o delving into the specifics. I like it at a glance though.
