armies from deadbeats in team games

Post by blashimov »

I like the idea of team games, but if you have a deadbeat recruit who gets kicked for missing turns, you do not receive any of the armies he should have been deploying. I would like to see his armies added to yours.

* Suggestion Idea: Give tea mates the missed armies for dropouts.
* Specifics: Add the missed armies to the deployment of the teammates next turn.
* Why it is needed: A deadbeat recruit costs at least 9 armies, more in terms of mobilizing for continents.
* Priority** (1-5): 3

I'm not saying that you should get those armies yourselves on that specific team, but I am saying that when we're talking about deadbeat players there should be some sort of punishment for the players themselves. Since whenever you have a dead beat player he can ruin the game at worst for a team or for the whole board can terribly offset a free for all game at a minimum. DEADBEATS SUCK!

No - have you seen any of the arguments over even getting the armies in the deadbeat's territories? I have no problem with that but to push it any further would be going too far and I could just imagine half the club going mad over it.

I think the teammates of a deadbeat player should be givin the last rounds armies for the deadbeat player. This gives them a little extra for having a teammate drop out but not so much as to change the game. Most people deadbeat from the start or after a turn so there should be plenty left for his teammate/s to receive anyway. It's not too bad how it is now and nothing has to be done - just a suggestion.

Agreed, some solution is needed

I agree, I think some solution is needed for this... I just got dead-beated by my partner in a doubles game when he missed his first three turns.

I have heard the suggestion to only play with people you know, but I think thats rarely feasible and the number of doubles games would go way down if we all strictly adhered to that advice...

Not necessarily. Perhaps team up with someone you've played a few Standard Games with, or post a Callout for a team member. We've got a few things in the works to help alleviate the deadbeat problems, but until they come out, you can, nearly most of the time, stop deadbeat partners by simply knowing who is on your team. Find a trustable person.

I like playing with people I've not played with though
I have won many a game with a deadbeat partner and actually I think I've won more games with deadbeats than without

You do get any extra armies for the amount of countries you get or any continent that you may own because of the deadbeat.

rubbish !!!

when a player doesn't deadbeat both players often have to attack their teammates to get a bonus .....

it would be far better to make all deadbeated troops turn neutral, just as in normal games, if only to avoid cheaters who want to take an advantage of this '' flaw ''

i'm in a game where 1 player in round 2 gets 5 troops for 16 countries and in round 3 he gets 19 troops (10 for 30 countries and 9 bonus) because his partner deadbeated .....
(of course i'm not saying he has anything to do with his partners deadbeating !!!!)

This is the perfect example why a deadbeat's countries should turn neutral !!!
Always look on the bright side of life !!
