A game my grandma taught me called 'Up and Down the River'

Too hard to explain now, but i like it so much that i once joined in on a game with my grandma and two of her old friends who i hadn't previously met. Was a pretty different conversation for the next 30 to 45 mins, but still, i enjoyed it. Cards are way more social than most games these days (ie, xbox or whatever)

All hail canasta.

Also, another game my grandma taught me..Don't know the name in English, but you basicly have to guess how many takes you will make ina hand.

The hands start with 1 card, then 2 cards, 3, 4..Ect. Until you can no longer equally distribute the cards.

There is always a trump card, which is the card revealed from the deck after the hands are distributed.

You score 10 points per take you made if you guess correctly, you score - 10 for every guess lower/over what you had guessed.

Pretty fun, and pretty strategic.

I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is.

Phase 10 or Plain old bridge.

Spades and Hearts are not a bad, either.

Bridge, and Hold 'em win for "real" card games.

Magic: The Gathering, or Skip-Bo, otherwise.

Spoons. You just can't get any better than Spoons.

Drinking card games-
Presidents and Assholes
King's Cup

Both of those are excellent for getting inebriated.

I haven't played this one in a few years, and I've forgotten most of the play and rules, but I seem to remember liking cribbage. Other than that I don't play card games often outside of the occasional poker game w/ my pals.
