I find I skip to "next available game" and suddenly realise I'm a different colour?

You'd have to join the game in the certain slot that corresponds with each color.

slot 1- Red
Slot 2 - Green
slot 3 - Blue
Slot 4 - Yellow
Slot 5 - Pink
Slot 6 - Cyan
Slot 7 - Orange
Slot 8 - Slate/Gray

currently a suggestion is made that might allow people to set their own colour as they want, i dont know how far it is and if all the kinks are ironed out (e.g. what if everybody wants to be red, and how would it work in teamchat) but i am quite sure its a feature what will hit cc eventually

yeah, i can see how easily you could get confused having competed 10 games and all... again, start the game first and you are always red...-the black jesus

I would suggest that you make a habit of reading your name, not your color.

Imagine a quads game where everyone got to pick their own colour...
Imagine being in 20 quads, the extra time spent making sure your thinking straight, getting the turn order right.. oh lord.

I'm guessing whoever came up with that idea isn't in a clan, doesn't play much trips or quads...

I would suggest that you make a habit of reading your name, not your color.

my name doesnt come up on the map.. lol
