That's not my point, it's not even about graphics. It's user-bility. Why do I have to keep typing in my username and password on entry? Why are there two menus that seemingly don't link at all? Why is the start page utterly useless and I have to click to go into my games? It should already be there. There are many many things like this. It's time for a massive upgrade. Where did my 30 dollars go? Where does everyones 30 dollars go? Not into website development that's for sure.jrh_cardinal wrote:CC has gotten much faster recently, along with other updates both ingame, and for tournaments/clans/other forum areas. I agree that some of the graphics around the site could look better, but I'd rather have an "old-fashioned" looking site that has good new features that I can actually use rather than some pretty, frilly site with poorer content
And I really don't think you realize how much time and effort it would take. The webmaster is currently by himself in doing updates, and he's a very busy man, from what i know.sickfest_au wrote:That's not my point, it's not even about graphics. It's user-bility. If you paid attention to what he said, you'd notice he is for change for the better. The point is that there are two ways to make the site "better:" one is to make it prettier, and the other is to add new and exciting gameplay options. Since the webmaster has a finite amount of time, we both believe he should spend his time on the latter, since it is more important.sickfest_au wrote:How are you possibly arguing against this? Are you against change for the better?
Well, believe it or not, 25 dollars is not a lot of money. If you want him to hire a team of programmers to make the website look better, you'd better start forking in a lot more money.sickfest_au wrote:I believe that I am paying 30 dollars for him to do both.

Doing a MASSIVE rework of the site isn't as easy as you think it is, considering how many different pages he'd have to update.I'd much rather have the busy webmaster create new and better game options than make the site look a teeny bit better to the eye.
He would pick bothTheForgivenOne wrote: I say it AGAIN, I would RATHER much have a website that has more settings, then a website with very few settings but a pretty design. If you could have 1, which would you pick?
TFO, I agree with you for the most part, but wish you would throw out this argument. Telling paying customers that lack can't fix everything because he has a life & other projects doesn't send a great message.TheForgivenOne wrote:lackattack has a REAL LIFE![]()

I know! But it's true, he does have things to do AWAY from his computer, so he actually doesn't spend 24 hours a day at his computer. Oh did you ALSO know, he has more than 1 site he manages? This may be his main website, but he can't dedicate ALL his time here, and completely ignore the other websites.

I have nothing against lack, and he has built a great site and a good community here at conquerclub, however he is not forced to do the work by himself. I have offered my services in several categories a few times, as have others. It is his CHOICE to code the majority of CC by himself.drunkmonkey wrote:TFO, I agree with you for the most part, but wish you would throw out this argument. Actually, outside his 40-hour work week (or whatever he chooses to work each week), he IS allowed to have a life. Just because he owns and operates the site doesn't mean he has to spend all of his waking hours on it. He's already on-call 24/7 for emergencies (like when the site crashes).drunkmonkey wrote:TFO, I agree with you for the most part, but wish you would throw out this argument. I'm confused...I don't have to "keep typing in my username and password on entry"...I believe you can fix this with a web-browser setting.sickfest_au wrote:That's not my point, it's not even about graphics. It's a matter of choice. The Suggestions forum is rife with huge numbers of incredibly good suggestions...but there's only so much time. And the more time that is spent on making the site look pretty and new-fangled, the less time is spent on those incredibly good suggestions.sickfest_au wrote:How are you possibly arguing against this? I never said he couldn't have a life, nor did I say he had to spend all of his time on this site. Imagine calling any other company (as a customer), asking for support/suggesting improvements, and being told, "Sorry, but I have a life outside this company, not to mention other jobs. I can't cater to your every desire." That response makes it sound like this is just a hobby.Night Strike wrote:Actually, outside his 40-hour work week (or whatever he chooses to work each week), he IS allowed to have a life. That analogy is hardly relevant, because Lack doesn't earn quite enough revenue from this site to have a technical support calling center, I imagine...drunkmonkey wrote:I never said he couldn't have a life, nor did I say he had to spend all of his time on this site. I feel like anyone who has a brain would agree with this, but am I the only one who feels like the last two "Feature" updates have been the most random, pointless updates you can think of?I'd much rather have the busy webmaster create new and better game options than make the site look a teeny bit better to the eye.
All I have to say is "Nuclear Fucking Spoils". And I mean that in the worst possible way.Army of GOD wrote:I feel like anyone who has a brain would agree with this, but am I the only one who feels like the last two "Feature" updates have been the most random, pointless updates you can think of?I'd much rather have the busy webmaster create new and better game options than make the site look a teeny bit better to the eye.
"Skip game"...? It took me forever to realize what bruceswar was talking about in that thread he created which suggested this idea, because I didn't know people actually clicked that "take me to my next playable game" link. I don't really get the point of the update though, because is clicking to My Games and then clicking on another game that much of a hassle?
"Teammate spoils"...? Ok, so, it's not completely useless, but there was really no need for it. People could just communicate their spoils in team chat.
Andy keeps hinting to a huge update coming up eventually, but it honestly seems like it's taking too long.
Yes. That update made jumping from game to game much simpler and quicker.Army of GOD wrote:"Skip game"...? Yes, but again, it's so much easier to look at all the spoils in one place than scroll through the lines of chat to find the last time they posted, assuming they didn't forget. Another great update."Teammate spoils"...? Ok, so, it's not completely useless, but there was really no need for it. People could just communicate their spoils in team chat.
