Well, that's probably for the Graphics Workshop, and I doubt things will look the same in there.PLAYER57832 wrote:Just a quick asthetic note, very minor. I have to admit, I had my skepticisms about a breakfast map, but I think this could work, especially with the losing conditions. I do have a few tweaks/suggestions (though most of your ideas are good ones):
-Have the salt and pepper be different territories, but have the same function - it seems wrong to lump them together IMO.
If they get made into separate territories, should players be able to attack both the salt and the pepper from any pink territory or should they only be able to attack the salt from 2 territories and the pepper from the other 2 territories?
-The plate bonus should be +1 per 3 plate territories, no matter what color.
Good idea.
-The tomato has plenty of territories, you shouldn't have to change anything.
-The bonuses, methinks, should go like so: Egg - 7 / Sausage - 7 / Toast - 4 / Bacon - 5 / Mushrooms - 6 / Tomato - 3 / Hash Brown - 3 / Baked Beans - 6
I'm not sure about your figures for the bonuses. I've made some slight changes from the recommended values, but the bonus calculator gave these figures:
Egg - 5.67 / Sausage - 7 / Toast - 6.33 / Bacon - 6 / Mushrooms - 7.5 / Tomato - 4.25 / Hash Brown - 5.08 / Baked Beans - 7.67
So I subtracted 1 from each of them and did some rounding that kept some variety between the different values.
Now, I have another suggestion using the losing conditions, but it would change things up a bit more: create silverware and make them the losing condition. I mean, who can eat breakfast without silverware? And with an English breakfast such as this, how could you eat with your hands? Each piece of cutlery could one-way attack one of the dark blue food territories and the killer neutral pink plate territories could attack the silverware, throwing out the salt and pepper altogether. Thoughts?
I don't think this would work out.
- There would have to be 8 pieces of silverware to allow for 8 players. The most pieces of silverware I've seen used for an english breakfast is 3 - a knife and fork for eating and a teaspoon for stirring the cup of tea. I was going to have some silverware, but only as decoration and not as part of the actual gameplay.
- With this kind of gameplay, in most cases a player would only be 5 or 6 territories away from attacking their rival's silverware. Players would probably just head to the pink territories and leave the majority of the map untouched.
- The person who got the silverware connected to the egg will be really annoyed, since they have to fight all the way to the egg of the plate before getting to attack their rival's silverware.
- The only way that pplayers could protect their own silverware is to stockpile troops on it and hope that they can survive an attack that could be far away from where they are and that they can't attempt to stop. This is why I limited the salt and pepper bombardment to not include the capitals/losing conditions.

I just put in that colour because I thought it looked nice. It can easily be changed though so I'll give a brighter colour a go.
I don't like black pudding or white pudding which is why I probably didn't put it on before. I fixed that though, so now it's making an appearance.KernowWarrior wrote:Where's the black and white pudding!

An Irish breakfast isn't that much different from an English breakfast. Just replace the beans with sliced potato and add some white pudding. It could be a possibility, although if this map goes well, I was planning on making one based around afternoon tea, to create a chronological selection of meals based maps.squishyg wrote:I am so loving this map, although i prefer Irish breakfast! if this one is successful, can you make me an Irish Breakfast one? I want my black and white puddings to attack each other.
