Mafia Stats: We need our own forum! [POLL] MODS PLZ STICKY

We have more posts than Forum Games and we have more posts than any other SUBFORUM on CC, except for Completed Tournaments. Is that amazing or what?

EDIT: And, if we had our own forum, we would have a big forum anyways! Tournaments, General Discussion and the smaller Serious Interwebz Business we only be bigger than us. General Discussion doesn't have that much of a advantage on us. We're even bigger than Map Foundry!

About the usergroup,
one thing I really like about the forum is the fact that anybody who wants to can decide to join on a whim... usergroups aren't conducive to new players.

I actually brought this up a while ago, way back before it was even this popular. I thought it would be cool if we could make our forum like the tournament forum with a "recruiting games" subforum, a "active games" subforum, and an archive of completed games. It never got off the ground though because we didn't have that many members at the time. I even remember petitioning for our own mod to organize the games into their proper subforums.

Its not necessarily needed, but it would be nice to see. We are definitely growing so it might happen someday.

GL with that. CC is a risk based site so there is not much chance of more sub-forums being created. Heck I remember when mafia games used to be intermingled with serious business forum or social lounge II as it was known then (I'm oldd) and it took a lot of pursuasion to get us our own forum. What we have experimented with in the past is creating a whole new website and forum dedicated to mafia, skoffin did this once before the esooglia mafia but thatf you want to use the usergroup to discuss these sorts of things by all means be my guest, what you could continue to work on was perhaps a master list to be stickied of mods and all their games, player stats and that, list of current active players etc.

Um Naggy, I think all SIB users being mad at seeing mafia games every 3 threads really gave a push for it to be miggled into forum games and mafia. I don't remember actually having to do that much.

Well the problem with that is that A) not many of us have the know-how to make a good website devoted to mafia, or at least one that can compete with mafia scum and B) not everyone wants the games to leave conquerclub. Lots of mafia players still play risk and they enjoy having it on the site.

I'm not saying a new forum is needed yet, but if the mafia forum gets busy enough, then I don't see why CC wouldn't want to promote us. If people are attached to the forums then they are probably going to stay active on the site. Think about it, if new members see that CC not only has risk, but a free mafia community as well, then maybe more people will want to play and contribute to the site. CC is receiving a free service from us at basically no cost at all to itself. Burying us away in the SIB forum seems kind of detrimental to the site. Thats just my opinion though.

Yeah, methinks only a mod can award them, I'm afraid. Ha! Wouldn't it be great if they made a new CC Team for Mafia?? One can only dream... I'm willing to bet if the mafia forum escaped the Off-Topics forum, it'd prolly be under the Discussion Team's jurisdiction.
