here you talk about something which takes equal time, 15min for both. But i doubt typing "hi" or "gl" or "hf" or even "good luck and have fun" will consume more than 1% of the time you spend with the game. In general, of course you sometimes don´t have time for A & B, but if A is something you do in your leasure time, and you do A twenty or fifty times ( or more often .... same time!) then i think you will have time for B since it´s just a very few extra time. Of course there is no need for any chat, and i have no problem with people who don´t say anything in chat. I simply prefer to have 1% less games and take time for saying "have fun" .trapyoung wrote:Seuss, Timminz's point was that just because you have time for A, does not mean you have time for A & B even if the amount of time for each independently is the same. It's like if I have to go get groceries and get a haircut. Both activities take 15 minutes, but if I've only got 20 minutes free, then I most certainly can't do both.
Not saying you shouldn't, but I don't agree with that. You see, I take comments in the game chat for what they are: just comments in a game chat. INot saying 'gl' or 'gg' isn't necessarily a bad thing. When I play games, I do just that; I play for the sake of playing and having fun. Unless I'm playing with someone I know, I usually barely speak at all. Because of this, I don't wish misfortune on the other person for not talking as I usually do the same. The only time I mark people down for attitude is if they actually give a good reason for me to. For example, comments such as "This game sucks!" when losing, or "Profanity and obscenity!" is when I mark the other players down. If they say nothing, I just carry on my merry way and assume neutrality, which isn't really worth marking people down for.DJPatrick wrote:You know I read someone's post in a C&A report where they mark one down on attitude for no "gl" at the beginning, a further one down for now gg at the end to get to average and one more off for nothing in the middle to get down to 2/below average with a "silent" comment...A bit arbitrary but I agree and have started using the same methodology (exceptions for those with less than 50 games as sometimes they don't even know there IS game chat)...
The whole ratings are pretty rudimentary but this seems a "fair" way to mark "attitude" which is hard to define...
Just and opinion and if you don't share it then "gl with THAT!"...LOL

I bet it must befuzzle the hell out of you when someone says something like, "2009-04-07 19:48:09 - the.killing.44: 2009-04-07 18:46:29 - the.killing.44 [team]: good luck"eddie2 wrote:I find it awkward in team games. if you forget to uncheck the box you cannot post it again straight away so i ussually forget.

The friend who introduced me to CC said I should always do that en be polite cause that's the standard here. But mayby he got it wrong and it ain't so normal?

how were you able to do that? the bruises from Mojo's boot might have a chance to heal if chat was at the top of my screen. and if it contained pretty pictures.notyou2 wrote:I try to always say
Have luck, good fun : )
I have moved my game chat box to the top of my screen so I see chat first. I find that helps to not miss game discussions but especially dubs, trips and quads strategy.

Not sure how I did it....it may be a BOB function or something. Yes... it's a BOB thing. One of the things under View Options (while you're in a game) will say "Chat on Top: Off"notyou2 wrote:Not sure how I did it....it may be a BOB function or something.
