dowian wins a tough battle for 7th place at 149 pounds to force a tie in the team standings with Oregon State at 153 points apiece.


If the tournament ends with a tie at the top, those teams will face off in a final dual meet showdown to decide the title.


Trying to give the other brackets some time to catch up, but I will send out the available championship bouts Saturday morning regardless.

All title bouts have been sent out, except 285 which is awaiting a player from the semis.

That leaves just a handful of bouts to create as a couple of the brackets make up ground...good luck to all in the drive for the finish.

Out of that mix...Oregon State will take part in four remaining bouts, while Iowa State will fill one spot. Should be a tight race for the title.

I've added a tracker for remaining matches under the scoreboard...a few have gone final since yesterday, but no movement at the top...all weight-class finals are now sent or completed with Wendt advancing to the heavyweight title bout.

A handful of bouts remain in the 197 and 285 brackets and Oregon State and Iowa State remained tied at the top.

Oregon State has two wrestlers left, while Iowa State has one.

Just sent out another set of bouts, leaving us with just a couple to go at 197 pounds...and those two will likely decide this tournament with Oregon State and Iowa State each having a place in one of those.

The last two bouts have been sent out with Iowa State and Oregon State still tied at 166. 5 points apiece

Both schools are represented in the last two bouts...you couldn't ask for any closer of a finish.

If the teams remain tied they will meet in a dual-meet format to decide the champion.

In a down to the wire nailbiter, Oregon State pulled out a tough 8-6 decision for 3rd place at 197 pounds, giving it the decisive points to pull ahead of Iowa State by a single point to win the NCAA wrestling crown.
