Idea for New Chicago Map

Post by ironsij0287 »

No offense to the creators of the current Chicago map, but lately I've trying to figure out a way to perhaps create a new version of that one.

The main issue I see is that the City of Chicago is so elongated north/south that it's very difficult to contain it in the CC dimension requirements and still maintain the geographical integrity of the map.

Map idea is to split Chicago into two game maps: Northside and Southside. That way there can be more specific inclusion of Chicago's various landmarks and neighborhoods and such. There would be some overlap of the central portion with both maps including the downtown Loop area.

Any thoughts? I haven't drafted anything up yet. I wanted to see if this thing even has legs before I took off.

I'm not really loving a second Chicago map... but a map of the Loop always struck me as an awesome idea.

That would be interesting. I don't know if I could handle the graphical part of if we started to incorporate all the buildings and landmarks into it.
