Banned from playing with others?

My apologies if this has been asked before:

When there is a message saying you cannot enter a game because you are banned from entering a game with a certain player in it, does that mean you have been put on someone's Ignore List or that CC has banned you from playing with a particular individual?

yeh some1 has you on their ignore list or possibly lack has imposed a ban on you and someone who is suspected of being a multi with you or maybe as a punishment for a secret alliance?

ummm, i believe if you are on someone's ignore list then it will say "you cannot join this game b/c you are on person x's ignore list"

i don't know for sure since it hasn't happened to me, but if you are blocked then it may say something like banned or blocked......

Someone once reported the player trip and I for having a secret alliance (search for my name in the Cheating & Abuse Reports Forum), but no moderator ever ruled on it and I'll just go ahead and say it...I have no secret alliance. I'm not a multi either, Neilhouse is a premium account. You can read the posts and check the game log for more info/details on that.

I'd like to hear back from a moderator on this one since I think it rather unfair to ban me from playing with someone without any previous notice or warning. What's the best way to go about resolving this?

Tried to join a doubles game with Neil.

"you are banned from playing with one of the players in game 307511"

Not cool.

Is this normal procedure? Banned from playing with someone from a highly transparent and easily refutable "hidden alliance" post with no warning or anything?

Well, we bust 100's (actually, a few thousand) of names that are never reported in Cheating and Abuse because we do many investigations on our own. So there is not always a thread to indicate what happened. But in your case it does seem that you were blocked because of the possibility of a secret alliance.

When two players are convicted of being multis they are sent an email explaining it and they can no longer view the forum or PM's. However if players are blocked it doesn't mean cheating was for sure taking place, its just a precaution....so no email is sent and everything about their account remains the same (except for the block).

As for the reasons behind this block, I cannot specify exactly because I was not the one who blocked you. I would assume the case of a secret alliance looked suspicious enough to warrant it though.

I don't doubt that. Forgive my impatience, I'm new to the boards here and am just unsure about how things are run. I didn't want to come off as pushy or dickish or anything. Being accused of being a cheat tends to vex me.

I've got an unbarred icon picture somewhere, if you're that curious. This one, by the way, was part one in a series of several that I found ... it's also the least puke inducing.

I had kinda hoped that it was pretty evident by our in-game chat that we were not a secret alliance, but I guess not. Will we know when the ban is lifted or will we just have to find out for ourselves like we had to with the ban?

I'm going to say, please.
Please explain why a block was put on a player with no notification.
Please explain why a block was even used.
Please explain why the time to send an inquiry to a player would be that much more than the time spent to place a block.
Please direct me to the rule that says if you are in the least bit suspected of even the remotest discrepancy your account is manipulated.

Something is not adding up here. And its not those two players.

We've received a fair number (more than 1 or 2) of complaints regarding Neilhouse and trip. But for now we'll remove the block and reinstate full privileges. And hopefully they will stay that way!

I'm surprised to hear that, AndyDufresne. From what you and others have said, I'm a little hesitant to play with trip at all now because I don't want to end up banned or something because someone thinks we're an unannounced team or we're cheating in some other way. I assure you we're not, but I'm sure you hear that from real cheats all the time...

What else am I supposed to say/do in a situation like this? It sounds like you're saying, "This is your warning, now don't let it happen again!" when I know I've never cheated at all. It's a little disheartening.

In those cases where it looks like Trip is letting Neil win, it's not because they have a secret alliance, it's because Trip is a douche. Downtown was mine! You should have been hitting his continents up top! But nooooo, lets not attack the guy building the evil empire in the northwest and squabble over downtown. It was all your fault!

Just where are these complaints?
I will admit that I am new and am trying to find out all the rules, written and inherent.
I do not wish to cross invisible boundaries.
From what I've read, there is a forum for posting cheats, and a certain format to be used. I myself have used that forum after consulting with Neilhouse on whether he felt my suspicions about certain players was correct.

Your comments here do not do anything to clear any questions. Your comments make it appear that they were doing something wrong. It is possible that you have pm'd the two and they know what's going on.

I'm sure it is obvious that I know these two. Is it suspicious that we all joined at the same time? Or is it because they are new and play extremely well?
Let me at least clear that part up, we heard about this game from another player as 'a very fun and challenging game'. Most of us have bought premium memeberships.

I'm still waiting on answers to my previos questions and I don't see your reply as anything but more unfounded accusations.

I guess I am lucky that I'm such a poor player.

1. With our current system, we cannot send a notification on blocking. We are currently working the code to such things, so things like this don't happen in the future.
2. A block is often used by a multi hunter when we receive numerous reports of suspicious play activity. A block is used at the discretion of the multi hunter.
3. See #1.
4. To ensure smooth running of the site, we may change or alter things if needed.

In regards of what to do, I think people now will get a feeling that you are indeed not guilty of anything, due to you coming out like this. As for what exactly to do, keep playing and hopefully it will all subside.
