Multiple war map ideas

What does it take to get one of those map making awards? I want one. I have a good idea for multiple new maps:
A Battle of Bunker Hill Map
New castle seige map
Ant farm map
If requested, I can make these maps like an expert.
BUT I WANT CREDIT AND A MEDAL

I am also into making maps and is new to this. Hoping to be able to create an impact on CC and get an extra medal

You need to host the image on an image hosting site like imageshack.

When you upload the image file to imageshack, the site provides you an URL (link) to the image. Copy that link, then paste it on the forum with [img] tags around it, thusly:

[img]http://imageshack.us/myimage.jpg[/img]

So if I make an awesome map, will it be considered? And I want medal.
Plus, I think i have awesome graphic making skills, for example, my avitar is made entirely of powerpoint shapes.

Powerpoint is not a proper tool for mapmaking. There was one who tried to make a map with powerpoint, and ultimately failed in the graphics section because of the limitations of powerpoint.

Download GIMP, it's free and a really powerful graphics tool. Easy to learn.

If your map goes to play, you will get a medal for it and one year of premium for free.

However, making a map is a long process, usually it takes at least 6 months to get a map through the foundry. You have to go through each forum, and you'll need lots of patience and resolution, but if you manage to pull it off, it's a very rewarding experience in the end.

That's a great idea. When I was a young boy there was a computer game called SIM ANT from the makers of SIM CITY. Fun times...

I think the map is doing pretty good, but the territories will look really weird. Some maps like feudal war can have random shapes that fit together, but ant colonies have tunnels and rooms, thats it.

The map is doing really good right now. I have the battlefeild layout almost finished, and I am almost ready to reshape and resize and perfect the territories. Then, I will make it presentable and share, right? And if it is liked I improve the graphics to an awesome map?

In between the liked and improving graphics you have the gameplay adjustments - major changes in the melting pot and minor changes in the gameplay workshop.

Gameplay changes may require some adjustments to the layout and region links etc, so dont work too hard on your initial idea.
