I agree with thisoaktown wrote:i understand the tunnel change and I agree that something needs to be done, but i liked the simplicity of one entrance on either end. And you have to figure the game won't be as simple as whoever has the great hall has the outer walls - now whoever has teh out wall can just by-pass the inner walls to get there, if they even care to get there. This change just does to the inner walls what the original tunnel design did for the entire castle.
What if the tunnel didn't go as far as the great hall at all? What if it only went to the east ward? Then you'd have your tunnel to break in/out, it would have a single entrance and exit, and it wouldn't compromise the defenses of the great hall.
people like seem to like them, as do i. it goes from a 75 degree veiw to a 90 degree view which gives the impression of forward motion.KEYOGI wrote:There's been something bugging me about this map for some time, but I hadn't been able to put my finger on it. i dont think the 'clashing' is bad at all. I'm currently the blue player on a classic map and im not even sure if Im still in the game or now, i mean, im not eliminated but i can't find my armies. But i may darken some shields.KEYOGI wrote: Onto army numbers, yellow's clashing pretty bad in Plains, so is green in Forest and Swamp (if Swamp is the territory on the far right that borders Tunnel? That legend needs work, it's quite hard to tell what is what.) Some darker sheilds?
hard on the eye?... i dont think so, there are torches after all. and the gate numbers see very legible to me. maybe your monitor needs adjustment, or maybe mine does.KEYOGI wrote: I like what you're trying to do with the numbers in the Wards, but I find these a little hard on the eye. Meanwhile the numbers on the gate are hard to see.
no bonus for holding a wall, you must hold the throne as well.KEYOGI wrote: Do you get a bonus for holding just the walls, or must you hold the throne as well?
i think this would workhulmey wrote:i had a look at the bonus structure and each so called continenthas few countries but alot of borders...Here are my following recommendations
Tunnel ( 3 borders 7 territories) = bonus of 2
well the GH has many more borders if you include the throne. but i think 2 would workhulmey wrote: Great hall ( 1 border 5 territories) = bonus of 2
agreedhulmey wrote: Throne = bonus of 1
Im not a fan of the walls having any bonus, they should just be for strategic use, as they are designed, not to mention with the walls and the gate thats 15 'continents' add that to various multiple bonuses and the key would be best offered in PDF format.hulmey wrote: Inner walls ( 3 borders 3 territories) = bonus of 2
see abovehulmey wrote: outer walls ( 6 borders 3 territories) = bonus of 3
the wall bonus are wrapped up with the throne which is +6, i think it works, and gives a strategy bonus for the throne rather than just being a 1 territory 1 bonus thing.hulmey wrote: BOTH walls = extra bonus of 1 or 2 (undecided)
yes i was thinking this.hulmey wrote: East ward ( 5 borders 4 territories) = bonus of 3
West ward ( 5 borders 4 territories) = bonus of 3
yes, and difficult to holed for surehulmey wrote: Midlands (6 borders 6 territories) = bonus of 6 (difficult to hold this 1)
i can see how this would workhulmey wrote: Plains ( 4 borders 7 territories) = bonus of 4
Swamps ( 5 borders 5 territories) = bonus of 4
the forest can be defend with only two territories, i think 3 is goodhulmey wrote: Forest ( 6 borders 4 territories) = bonus of 3 or 4 (undecided)
works, and dont forget the camp + gatehulmey wrote: Woods camp = 1 bonus
river camp = 2 bonus
I like the trees, fences, tent, etc. but I agree that it doesn't fit with the castle. I'd prefer to see a bit of dimension added to the castle before those other objects are removed.KEYOGI wrote:There's been something bugging me about this map for some time, but I hadn't been able to put my finger on it.
