AndrewB wrote:Great update! One suggestion though.
Identifying what belongs to whom takes up a lot of resources on every refresh. So when I am eliminating someone, and clicking attack 100 times, it will slow down the process dramatically.
So here are my questions:
1. Can we cache it somehow? Probably not, because the armies might have been changes between those refreshes. Or maybe just cache XML? Because that AJAX call is still expensive. 2. Can we make this identification optional? So I will turn it off, when I am doing refreshes often...
Great job!
AndrewB , this version improves the 'what belongs to whom' code, I was searching the whole page, for all places the player name appears, (including the game log which was probably the performance problem), this version only attaches the mouseover code to the player list on the right of the map.
I have also added an option to turn it off if required, but please let me know if I have improved the performance at all.
yeti_c wrote:1) What's the "123456" bit added when you roll over "who owns what"? it increases depending on number of armies...
Opps my bad that was some testing code that got left in, please download again - I have taken that out now.
yeti_c wrote:2) Why does the map grey?
To make the army numbers stand out more., you can adjust this or turn it off by editing the options; see the post by tahitiwahini that describes editing options.
yeti_c wrote:3) Can I turn off the letter next to the name bit?
conquertell is there in the addons but it doesnt give me an option to do anything. the options box is greyed out. do you know where I could download it from again ?

I didn't mean in the addons, just at the bottom of your screen. Next to the GreaseMonkey smiling face
artur1 wrote:Hi all, I have just installed the new one and I got it to work correctly on all maps but, the USA. I cant see tabel that provides armies, cards and so on?
Take a look at that game again. Make sure the greasemonkey is red and smiling on that page. If he is, right-click and make sure the Conquer Club - Roberts Mods script is listed and checked. Finally, click the refresh icon on that page. You should see the stat table now.
The script really shouldn't have any issues with any of the maps.
Let us know what you find out.
Hi I have done it all it does not work, the strange thing is that the map with the text (y=24) does work but I cant get the table to work on that game. As I said before it is working fine on all the other maps. Maybe I should try to reinstall it. Why dont any of you guys check it out, is it working for you 288082.

I looked at the game, the table seems to be working for me.
Short of reinstalling everything, I would restart Firefox and see if it's working for that game then.
I've noticed a difference between Version 3 and 2 that I don't think is an improvement. When you mouse over a player's name in the roster you see his holdings on the map highlighted. In version 3 it's hard to read the number of armies in the highlight box, while in version 2 the number of armies really stood out. When I'm looking at the map using the highlight feature what's important to me is the number of armies in the country, not the name of the country.
Could you tell me how to modify the script to get back to how version 2 displayed the number of armies when in highlight mode?
The version includes ClessAlvein's modification to show the time in 12 hour format AS AN OPTION, so you can now choose your own poison.
It also adds another way of identifying what belongs to whom, try moving the mouse over a player name in the list. _________________ r.
I'm currently back to using version .2 because of the script because I prefer the way the armies appear in highlight mode better in .2 than .3.
No one else seems to be complaining, so don't worry about it. I can figure out the difference by looking at the script; I was just being lazy by asking. I would like to step up to .3 because it probably runs faster and is more efficient.
detlef wrote:Sorry, I'm a bit of a ludite but how do I change the script? Where are you getting to the text lines?
Grrr... Firefox went decidely gay on me whilst trying to edit the script... in the end I had to find the temp file copy to a new location - edit - uninstall existing version and then reinstall...
You *should* be able to right click on the monkey face - goto Manage User Scripts... select your script and click *edit*.
Save it somewhere edit it and then it should work.

Sorry that was me getting my version numbers muddled up, what you are seeing in the .3 release is some debug text that I forgot to remove.
I still wish I could figure out how to change the actual colors so that I don't need the letters.
The highlighting will come in very handy when you're red and you're looking for the last pink territory on the map. It's amazing how many improvements can be made to an old board game.
I haven't tried the improved counter, but it looks great.

Yeah, I liked it the other way (display armies number not country name) a way better.
As per speed, it seems to be refreshing quicker, but to really test it i need to do this cascading elimination, and with me lately it does not happen often
I've just changed it to display armies myself, but it looks peculiar. The reason is the font mismatch between the underground image and highlighted army's square.
I wonder if anyone knows which font CC is using to display armies count.
