This would depend on how many keep playing even after they have a win in each round, etc., but it is possible.
I think your idea to make even rounds only 2 games is an excellent idea. This would cut down the amount of players much quicker.
Still, for all of you who want to argue with my math skills, even with 2 games per round, if everyone went 1-1, everyone would move on. But chances are much greater a player loses 2 games.
For all you pin heads out there who keep posting their record. Tournament Director has asked everyone NOT to post your wins loses, he will check it.
Thanks, Joe B.
I vote keep it at 3 rounds. Even if it is possible for everyone to stay in the tournament, that is obviously not what is going to happen. The actual math on it is a little too difficult for me to figure out right now, but as a proxy: If 2400 players of equal skill all played all three games then about 300 would be eliminated in the first round. The actual result is even more players being eliminated. See my post here:HighlanderAttack wrote:Joe B. wrote:I few people responded to my point about losing 3 games. Well there are a lot of new players in this tourney that are really excited to be playing. I don't mind if they post in the thread their accomplishments--we are not even filling a whole page anymore so when I read through it is really no big deal. They do not have to post as I do check. I just don't want the pm's coming in with I won stats.
In regards to the 3 games--I do agree your math is accurate. I have run tourneys in this style before and believe it or not you lose players every round. Even in the later rounds. For now I will keep it at three but if it starts to really drag I will have to move it to two. I think I would do a poll first. I don't plan on going anywhere so I will be here to keep it running.
Thanks for the input--all input and opinions are welcome.
This is caused by (1) winners not playing more games, thus not taking a chance at losing a game, thus not allowing other players to grab a win off them; and (2) players not being equal causing more 3-0 records and 0-3 records than would be statistically expected.agentcom wrote: 2379 players
About 50 have played too many games.
About 240 of the rest have lost 3.
About 285 of the rest have not won any games, but have not yet completed 3 games.
Check all games you have played from your wall link and if no HA's 200th Tourney games appear then go play a maximum of 3 games.fleury wrote:i went away for a bit...but before i left i joined your tourny.....was wondering...am i still in or am i too late....? cant find out how to join if im already in...?
