Valentine's Day - Overrated or not?
Am I just bitter? Maybe. Some places are charging over $100 for a dozen roses!! But, when I've spent $70 for a dozen roses, $35 for a box of chocolate truffles, $20 for a teddy bear, I have reason to be. And to top it off, the date hasn't even started yet. Thus, I still have to buy dinner. Total bullshit. I'd rather spend that money on a different day at half the cost and get more out of it. I'd better get a blowjob. Let's hear your thoughts ladies and gentlemen. Tell me what you've done for him/her, how much it cost you. Let's hear your thoughts on whether or not it's a complete marketing scheme.

The good thing about a girl breaking your heart before V-day is that you save money =(owenator wrote:Am I just bitter? Maybe. Some places are charging over $100 for a dozen roses!! Just schedule yourself out of town for part of the week and when you get back buy the crap for off season possibly even overstock discount prices get an extra card then, later in the year pull a second non scheduled Valentines day some random time and reap the benefits of being "spontaneous and thoughtfull" then.
If you don't have the courage to pull that. Buy your crap early and tell her she's so hot/special you couldn't wait for Feb.14.
If she expects the full treatment a second time on the actuall day in a week or two, it's probably better if you start verbally abusing her so she dumps you and you don't make any mistakes that tie you to her.

Old married lady... its overrated. Fun for the kids, but else... Love isn't a one day prospect. Either its always there or it isn't and no flowers, candy, etc will change that.

Waay too commercialized, find someone else who thinks it's overrated and just go out to a nice dinner. Roses wilt, chocolates make you fat, and stuffed animals for for babies and little kids, not adults.

Well said. I agree whole-heartedly. Dinner would only cost 1/3 of the cost that I spent today ($150), even if it is in Canadian dollars. Oh...you're my hero too.safariguy5 wrote:Waay too commercialized, find someone else who thinks it's overrated and just go out to a nice dinner. There was no mention of dolls...use your imagination. And the key word was "stuffed animals". There was no talk about stuffing....ah, forget it!Army of GOD wrote:=(safariguy5 wrote:stuffed animals for for babies and little kids, not adults.

Well, actually, I have 3, because I won two at Hershey Park a few years ago, but I don't bring them to college. And yes, that means I bring my other one to college.

Hmmm...do you think I'll be slapped if I use that as a pick-up line on a girl? You should trademark/copyright it. Just pure golden poetry. I laughed, I cried, I *stuck* two thumbs up.Army of GOD wrote:Did it come with a hollowed out anus or did you make it yourself?Fircoal wrote:My mommy got me a Shinx plushie :3safariguy5 wrote:and stuffed animals for for babies and little kids, not adults.

Hm. It has potential. I'll assign the single males of CC to try to use it in the field and have them report back to this thread. Maybe we can get a few statistics on its kill/death ratio.owenator wrote:Hmmm...do you think I'll be slapped if I use that as a pick-up line on a girl? You should trademark/copyright it. As long as I have your blessings O Great One with your wonderful one-liners. I plan on using it and testing it for myself. My face has been slapped many times, so I'm sure one more won't hurt. If not, then I owe you a case of beer.Army of GOD wrote:Hm. It has potential. I'll assign the single males of CC to try to use it in the field and have them report back to this thread.
