What is the RSS feed?

Post by sgkramer »

I see the highlighted text to get the RSS feed software, but I don't see any description of what that software does. Would someone please elaborate?

Thanks for the reply and the info; however, it's still not clear to me how having an RSS feed helps with this web site.

I think the intention is that you can subscribe to CC and set up an alert in the RSS software (for example: yahoo alerts) so that you can be notified when you have a game ready. I believe you can set up yahoo alerts so that you will be emailed when you have a game ready. It may also be possible to set up yahoo alerts so that it can send a SMS to your mobile when you have a game ready.

I hope this helps.
Cheers,

There are several Firefox plugins that use the RSS feeds..."Conquer Tell" being the most widely used.

Doh! Yes, that's what I use. I've been using it for long enough that I guess I forgot it gets its data from RSS.
