Nikolai do you belive that i work these map for 20 skiled map makers? Do you see numbers of present vote over 100 people vote, these wath i call majority. These map work for ordinary people not for some couple of people who whant to be better then others members and to decide what its best for my map and what its not.
And ruben for you MAJORITY-ВЕЋИНА
qwert, I honestly think if you do the blurring (and do it right) the map will be quenched.
I don't see any other suggestions for improvements. People do give their honest opinion in this thread, like you saw when people said the circles were fine. It's not some conspiracy, people do care about the blurring.
If you showed people a good map and they all said yes I want to play this map, does that mean you shouldn't make it into a great map?

Ok. I have one suggestion, and it will probably be ignored, shot down, and insulted, but I'll say it anyway.
I have never liked the shadows behind the continent names in the legend, but I realize now that the text wasn't the problem.
Rather, the shadows behind the coloured rectangles do not belong. Immediatly next to them are the helmet icons with the bonus numbers, and they do not have the 3D effect. So I think the 3D effect on the rectangles is out of place, it is not consistent. Leave the shadows under the actual text, and under the army bonus numbers.
Does this make sense?
I was having trouble with the 3D layered effect, but I realize now that this was because everywhere else on the map there are 2 layers- the text seems to float over the background, but on the legend there are suddenly 3 layers- the text floats over the rectangles which float over the background.
It is a very simple fix, simply remove the rectangles' shadows. Add to that the slight blur which others have mentioned, and this map will really be very nice.
Do you need an excuse to have a war? I mean, who for? Can't you just say "You got lots of cash and land, but I've got a big sword, so divy up right now, chop chop."
Terry Pratchet
Eh, the helmets have a 3D effect (the shadow and shine) they just don't stand out as much as the numbers and font do. I don't think getting rid of the shadow will make things look better, just a bit simpler. However I think most people are pretty content with the legend.
No, qwert, I don't think that you work the map for the members of the foundry alone. But I'm wondering whether you really work the map for CC, or for you. If you work it for CC, why not take people's advice on how to make it as good for CC as possible? You working it for you would explain why you totally refuse to accept the opinions of anyone except yourself about what looks good and what doesn't.
Nikolai u come in this this thread and started hurling insults left right and centre....If you want to comment here have the decenceny to read the 70 odd pages here..otherwise in ronaldinho terms GFY
Ok i had a couple of mates at my place today they looked at the map and said its fantastic we then got the microscope out and saw the jagged edges. But they said theres alot of pains in the arses on this site who should be shot and there bodies fed to my dogs. I mention no names.
Okey dokey back to GUISCARD'S example of blurring the borders..I am seeing in the right map that it seems to be more magnified than the map on the left...WHY IS THIS?????
its not the magnification that matters, thats just to show what was done, the important part is the normal size one and the one on the right looks better.

You know, this thread already had the Foundry record a long ass time ago. The second longest was the World 2.0 map thread with 38 pages, we have long since schooled that weak sauce.
