Im a total lightweight drinkwise, a couple or few and Im done. A couple buddies and I went into this bar in Garmisch and soon after were joined by some of you lads. They lit the place up of course, they dont act like normal people in a bar and sit together and maybe talk to their neighbors or something. They spread out and join strangers at different tables, make fast friends, and then all introduce each other to their new buddies, which is a brilliant way to run a bar I must say. Turns the place into a big party. Anyways we got a couple at our table and one challenged me to a drinking contest. They served a drink called a Zombie there that came served in a big pink elephant and the contest was who could drink it the fastest. I was expecting to go down totally in flames and never hear the end of it from my buddies but I coulndt see an honorable way to back out so I had to accept. I wound up downing that sucker in record time and whooping and hollering it up before my opponent was half done! USA! USA! USA! Wish Id written down his name so I could pass it on to you and you could go kick his ass for the shame he brought on your country, out-drunk by an American lightweight of all things.
Nice one fella, try and remember his name, I could look him up!!
I spent alot of time with US troops in the former Yugo, Zetra Stadium was one of the places in the early 90's, we had to beg borrow and steal your lad's kit as you had more shiney stuff than us. And more beer.

When I was finished, I tried to join the FFL, but they barred me due to an incident that I had in Italy that involved British Sailors, American Marines, and a crowded pub, that ultimately ended with an introduction with the Carabiniere while on shore leave.

There are a few other kiwi ex-servicemen on this site. My signature quotes two other ex-RNZN sailors, from a game where there were five ex-RNZN sailors together.
I spent two and a half years in the reserves as a Military Police Officer for the Canadian Military. Loved it. Miss it. Left due to chronic knee problems. Was planning on making it a career...unfortunately it wasn't meant to be.
