Lynching question

Post by Rodion »

Alright, assume 15 players, day phase.

You need 8 to lynch. One player already has 7 votes and someone "hammers" the 8th vote.

Can one of those 8 change their mind and unvote before the mod narrates the lynch? Or is the voting settled in stone after the hammering occurs?

Voting is set after the lynching vote is cast. Changing votes and unvoting will not count after that nor will they be reflected in the final vote count of that day.

The Lynch is set in stone. Accidental hammers and scum hammers are why L-2 over L-1 has become popular as the last stop before lynch.

Technically, it depends on the mod. More or less every game here is run in such a way that the day ends when a lynch is reached, it doesn't have to be that way, though.

A while back I ran a game in a usergroup forum where the length of the days and nights was predefined. Even if a player got more than half the votes they still had until the end of the day to try and convince people to unvote them. Of course, Neoteny got lynched even so, but such is life.
