Well wonder no more. Rifftrax is the new iteration of the MST3K format, and they can make fun of whatever they want. A quick check showed that they had one for The Last Airbender.

For one, the word "libertarian" wasn't used in a political context until Joseph Déjacque (an anarcho-communist) and Pierre-Joseph Proudhon (a mutualist anarchist) exchanged open letters in the mid 19th century, as a means to evade the French ban on anarchist literature (prior to this, the word "libertarian" was used in a metaphysical context within the discourse between free will and determinism). It wasn't until the late 20th century with the creation of the LP did the term become co-opted by pro-government types and begin to take on a different, perverted meaning divorced from its classical, original, and philosophically sound basis.
Secondly, and arguably more importantly, the LP is not a libertarian organization in the slightest, and no self-respecting libertarian would identify with the LP.

So it doesn't win Target's inteleegent post of the week award?
yes yes it does
Except I never implied any of that.
The values present at the time I originally introduced still exist today.....yet the name of it has changed. Does that clear up the history lesson?

What words mean change all the time and values change too! And I knew that the whole time I thought it was more fun to say!
In related news, if I don't transfer out of my current school (which I'm hoping to God I transfer, but just in case) then I'm set to take Organic Chemistry for no particular reason next semester. I may be fucked.
