Cybernations

hey guys. ive been playing here at ConquerClub for a few weeks and have been really enjoying myself. i just thought i would make a recommendation to my fellow Conquerors...if you like this game then i figured you would enjoy cybernations.

in the game you are the ruler of a nation. you dictate its every move: be it political, economical, militarial etc etc etc. The game itself is incredible, but what makes it more fun is the politics and diplomacy involved. there are 40,000+ nations being managed (each IP address only gets one nation, or they get deleted) and there are tons of alliances to become a part of. the treaties, bonds, massive wars, and oppositions between these alliances ARE WHAT MAKE THE GAME EVEN BETTER.

to sign up just go to www.cybernations.net and create a nation. the game may be down for a few days but will definetly be up and running within the week. (by 1/4/07)

once your in, I highly recommend joining the alliance i am a part of, the Global Organization for Liberty and Defense, (GOLD) which is a yellow team alliance currently comprised of around 350 members. we are an independent and strong alliance with a very high average strength and extremely dedicated members. if you join GOLD your nation will prosper (trust me)

to join GOLD after you have created your nation, go to www.gold-cn.com, register, and post an application. it is a cool comunity and we would be pleased to have some of your guys with us.

Already joined a month ago ...great site...recomend it to everyone...joined the Novus Orbus Alliance...but I'm sure yours is nice too

Cloud means the Coalition of Defensive States. We are both on Cybernations, it's unfortunate it's shut down at the moment.

Yeh I'm in Cybernations. The ODN is my alliance, but we're getting beat in the current global war. The whole site is down at the minute and it looks like theres gonna be some big shakeups when the dust clears. Choose your alliance carefully if you join :D

Really is very good. The inter-alliance politics are pretty interesting, and its fun to build up your country and be part of a bigger organisation. There are treaties, non aggression-pacts, embassies etc. etc. If you join an alliance they'll probably give you some aid to get going. I could do with some right now cause I'm pretty beat by the current war (my alliance is losing, it seems). :D

It's excellent as you control your own peice of land with your own peasents which you can do what you like to them!

Huh. It's shut down now. From the iota of information I was able to gleam concerning it, it seems to be a knockoff of the game "Nation States", which was created as a publicity-generating stunt to raise interest in the novel "Jennifer Government" (google that if you care to know more).

The game was, er, lame. Pretty much because of zero competition, i.e., no way to mount military operations, no way to affect the policies or prosperity of other nations, no economy, no nothing; you just get asked a question ("Matter of State") every day, and your answer (multiple choice) determines which road your nation heads down (fascism, socialism, democracy, whatever). Like, "Public Nudity"; should you allow it, disallow it, or ignore it as a non-issue?

Pretty much cerebral group masturbation.

Now, BARREN REALMS ELITE and SOLAR REALMS ELITE -- THOSE were some GAMES, yo! Remember those? BBS door games, you could duke it out taking territory from the other nations on your planet, or you could all get together and send an invasion to take territory from another planet (but your invasion force would take days or weeks to navigate through the slow space of FidoNet's backbone from BBS to BBS to BBS to your target).

Nationstates was a different game. You can mount complicated military operations in Cybernations. Its not just based on answering questions. There are resources and trade with other nations, aid, technology, you can buy imporvemnts such as banks, barracks, schools, hospitals etc, develop technology, buy great wonders... The top 2% of nations can buy nukes (but have to negotiate trade for uranium first). The alliance system and politics are pretty intense. There's a hell of a lot of competition.

whooooo! finally. yea, for any of you people just joining the game, its up to you which alliance you join, but if you want to grow at all and become powerful you should join an independent alliance who is not currently involved in the Third Great War. nudgeGOLDnudge

oh, and hey everyone who already plays!!! my name is the same ingame if you want to contact me. my nation is about 40k nation strength and growing :)

@guisgard from ODN: if you ever decide to step out of the war and start rebuilding, you should come to GOLD. we are taking in refugees and handing out tons of aid to those who need it to rebuuild. we would love to have you

PS- NPO = the bad guys :wink:
