Welcome to what will be my 8th tournament, the ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE! In 6 different locations throughout the USA, a virus has been released causing people to become murderous monsters hungering nothing but brains. These monsters can only be killed with 3 shots directly to the head. With the infection rapidly spreading, the US government has called for all US citizens to attempt to battle these monsters. In the case that the Zombies overcome the Human Population, the President devised a plan. In spacecraft capable of housing 100 people, he and 98 others wait out the scenario, prepared to launch into Space should the Zombies win.
Okay so there's the ridiculous background story that I put together to make this tournament make any sense lol. Despite how dumb that was, this tournament is going to be very fun! The tournament can end in a few different ways; but no matter what there will be one winner. I'm only going to except Premium members for this tournament, since the Zombies will play multiple games at a time (explained later). All games shall be Sequential, Automatic, Escalating, Chained, and Sunny. They will be played on a few different maps (listed later). Besides the first round, all games will be 1v1. Here's how the tournament shall work:
Throughout the tournament, you will either be a Human or a Zombie. Your status as a Human or Zombie can and probably will change throughout the tournament. During each round, every Human must fight one Zombie (1v1). If the Human wins, he/she remains a Human, and the Zombie takes a shot to the head. If a Zombie receives 3 shots to the head, they are eliminated from the tournament. If the Zombie wins, the Human is turned into a Zombie, and the Zombie takes their brains. Once a Zombie has 2 or more brains, the Zombie turns back into a human. (Yeah it makes no sense. But it will give incentive for Zombies to keep playing and not deadbeat.)
In the event that during one round, a Zombie's amount of brains equals 2 or more and total shots to the head taken equals 3 or more, the brains will override the shots, and the zombie will become Human.
Round 1 - The infection
Maps: USA Great Lakes, USA New England, USA Rockies, USA Southeast, USA Southwest, USA West.
Players will be randomly placed into 6 groups of 4 players, who will each play on one of these maps. Each of these games shall be played Terminator style. The first player in each group to be killed shall become a Zombie. After that, the rest of the game will not matter; so play it out as you will.
Round 2- The Outbreak
Map: Classic.
Each of the 6 Zombies shall be randomly assigned to 3 battles, each 1v1 vs. a Human. As stated before, if the Zombie can win two or more them, the Zombie shall become a human, win just 1 and stay a Zombie, win zero and be eliminated. Also as stated before, the Humans who lose their games shall be converted to zombies.
After Round 2, there will begin to be a large number of zombies. For every zombie who becomes a human, at least 2 or more humans become zombies.
Round 3-????: The Fight for Humanity
Maps: Madagascar, Doodle Earth, Luxembourg, Duck and Cover.
Starting at Madagascar, the map shall rotate through the four maps each round. During each round, using random.org, Humans will battle Zombies. If there are more Humans than Zombies, Zombies will fight multiple Humans. If there are more Zombies than Humans, some Zombies won't get to play that round. A list will be kept at all time of which Zombie shall be next to fight; after their fight, they go to the back of the list.
Since Zombies will often only be fighting one Human, brains and head shots will carry over from round to round.
*If anyone deadbeats after Round 3, they won't be replaced...
The tournament can end in a few possible scenarios:
Ending 1: If at anytime after a round finishes, there is only one Human remaining, he/she will join the President in the Spaceship and be declared the winner of the tournament.
Ending 2: If at anytime there are exactly two Humans remaining, the two will battle it out in a best of 5 series to see who gets to go in the Spaceship. The winner will be declared the winner of the tournament. The maps will be the same as for Round 3-???, with the fifth map being Random.
Ending 3: Simultaneously, all of the Humans are turned into Zombies. The six players with the most brains consumed will play a Standard game on World 2.1. (Play in games will occur on the Classic map if there are ties). The winner will be crowned the winner of the tournament.
Ending 4: The Humans somehow manage to kill all of the Zombies. The remaining players will then play a Round Robbin on Random, where each Human fights every other Human. The winner of the Round Robbin will be crowned the winner of the Tournament. Ties will come down to head-to-head record. Three way ties will result in a 3-person Standard game, unless one of the players beat the other 2 players during the round robbin. The same applies if four or more players tie.
