I've heard that some non-readers will refuse to watch after this episode. Going on some other comment sections there is some fallout and anger, all understandable.

Those who haven't read the books and were just given the mother of all blindsides, will you keep on watching?

What kind of tool watches up to the very last episode then stops?

Haha, yeah, really. May as well keep going.

But yeah, definitely was a great episode. Still preferring the books, but the show made a damn good showing of it. Nice to see it on tv.

Just finished the last episode, haven't read the books. All I've got to say is:

THAT WAS BRILLLIANT.

Finally a show that doesn't treat me like a fuckin' todler.
I was already intending to read the books, but after this, they've moved up to the top of my list.

If they keep it up, this may well become my favourite series of all time.

Got a great laugh out of this, 10 minutes of Tyrion slapping the piss out of Joffrey:

I've read all available books. There is an element of "there is impending doom and we need to do something about it" in the books, but given Martin's penchant for plot twists and surprise deaths, I remain on the edge of my seat (sort of... it's hard to remain on the edge of one's seat when I read the last book 10 years ago almost).

There are better "realistic fantasy" books out there (at least in my opinion). I mentioned Joe Abercrombie and Glenn Cook before. While not as grand in scale as Martin's books, these two guys have the "what's going to happen next" and "now that's some realsitic stuff there" thing going on better than Martin does.

Joffrey's lining up to be a classy pantomime villain "..the soft-hearts of women!" what a twat.
Loving the series, will look the books up pretty damn soon, the first books already on special offer, maybe I'll hang fire and see if they put the rest of the series in the offer too...

He's even more hate worthy in the books believe it or not. I've been pretty impressed with the show they've done the books great justice.

Finally saw episode 9. Like the others it's been super awesome. I often find that the scenes they add are some of my favorite. In this episode I'm referring to the Tyrion, Bronn, Shae, drinking scene, however they've seemed to of made Shae a way bigger bitch in the show than she was in the books. Also she looks too old, way older than 18. I was disappointed in the battle scenes (or lack there of). I mean I know they don't have an un-ending budget but it's still disappointing that they danced around showing any sort of warfare. Hopefully season 2's budget will be increased and we'll get some real hardcore action for:
Spoiler
the battle of the Black Water Rush!

I didn't really mind the lack of battle scenes.
Guess I got accustomed to it from Rome.

Either way, I'm gonna wait a little bit so I forget some of the details of the series and then start reading the books, this shit is really REALLY good.

Cause you don't know what you're missing. In the books Tyrion isn't knocked out by some hammer before the fighting. He legit rides into battle and actually kicks a fair amount of ass. Of course that's easy to imagine when reading a book. Actually filming a dwarf fight a battle might be... silly.

Yeah some things aren't translated as well onto the screen. Still they should've done the Whispering Wood battle, cause that's at night and you don't have to show much. We would've gotten a kickass fight scene with Jaime trying to cut his way to Robb.
Spoiler
That should be kickass. Also George RR Martin is writing the episode named Blackwater so it's unlikely the battle will left out, especially since considering most of season 2 will be building up towards it

Its a great series and I can't wait to read the books, it just seems as though the whole series has progressed too quickly. If you take something like stargate that progresses slowly over a 20 episode season this is a lot different. Hats off to HBO though, what a great series. Casting British and Irish actors was genius. Although not sure about killing off all the main characters.

If they don't want to just rape the story from the books that's what they have to do.

And as much as you hate joffrey's character, his actor is doing an amazing job.

The most hateable characters tend to be played by very good actors. Otherwise we wouldn't hate them so much.
