I'd understand this if I was reporting something more subjective, like trolling, and it was preceded by troll baiting, however this was not slur baiting, it was banter acceptable under the rules until DBo crossed the line and said a word that is clearly banned. If he had responded with disrespectful statements in response to me in game chat without using a banned slur then we would not be here, so I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make.

I think you've been watching too many Jane Lynch PSAs, saying "retard" has a context and connotation entirely separate than mocking someone with a mental disability. Take it up with the mods and tell them to ban the word, but not sure what you're trying to prove by pushing for sanctions against someone who has broken no rule.

Being an intelligent person, you should understand why you crossed the line in trying to describe your intentions.

As far as the term describing a person incapable of doing things another person would do "normally", this should be on the list too. There shouldnt be any allowances for using specific words that describe a people group in a negative way. The word in question has the same weight of negativity against that people group as would any offensive term or racial slur toward its people group.

Personally, I think that either all derogatory words should be acceptable, or none. Don't make one word worse than another, especially seeing as different cultures can take different words' meanings quite differently.

'Faggot' isn't exactly a big no-no word in Britain, 'retard' is much more unacceptable. I use the latter more often though simply because no-one really uses faggot. The shortened form I believe is 'fag' which in Britain is a cigarette. It's very much an American word, and would only be offensive to an American. I notice the accused is in South Africa, where people don't take offence quite so easily.

At the end of the day they're only words, and if you take offence at them, you should just have to man up an deal with it.
