We are full (16 teams + 7 reserve teams)! We will begin in the next couple of days, as soon as I find time to set up everything

I'm working on the details by making final checks of players, setting up excel sheet for smooth running and preparing scoreboards/schedule to be posted. After finalising these things (hopefully in the next hour) then I'll get to creating first games.

Everything has been set up and you can see results of it all in the first page (post 2). I will shortly start sending out invites to everybody for the first 3 games (Group Stage). Please join your games in timely manner (i.e. before the invite wears out in 24 hours).

Edit. It took me a couple of hours more than expected but everybody has received their first invite now and all sign up mistakes (wrongly written usernames and replacements for a couple of players) have been fortunately settled. Hopefully all games will begin in the next day (or two if reminders are needed).

Most games have started nicely, just 3 more games need to begin because a player had to drop out due to family issues but I got a replacement player's name really fast so that invite has also been sent out now. I'm expecting all games to be active in the next 24 hours.

I'll get back to this tournament in a week or two, depends how fast the first games end so I could make the first update to the scoreboard.

All 24 games of the Group Stage are active right now, though there are some eliminations in a few games then no finished games yet.

Some games have finished so scoreboard has been updated I won't be including goals, unless they are needed to break a tie. Will update again in a week or so, depending how fast the games end.

Subject: World Cup Map Bungle

Today I updated the 2011 World Cup map, and it changed the gameplay affecting many games including two tournaments. I shouldn't have applied that update to ongoing games just like that, and I failed to read the instructions provided to me by samuelc812. This was pretty stupid of me and I take full responsibility. It is not the fault samuelc812 or any other of our wonderful volunteers.

I have reverted back to the previous version of the map, and hopefully we can sort things out with affected games...

Group stage is done! Top 2 teams from each group have moved on to Knockout Stage (standings updated!) and quarter-finals of that stage have started - all teams have received 3 games to join. Remember, you must win 3 games, so best-of-5 series is played in this stage of the tournament.

I messed up with 1 invite but I will fix it as soon as possible. Invited wrong person who hasn't visited site since 2006 so I am just waiting for the invite to wear out before I can invite correct person.

3 out of 4 quarter-final matches have started, the last one has got the invites that I messed up yesterday so I am hoping that those games get started soon also

There's a minor delay with one of the matchups but I do not wish any more replacements and so I will give a bit of extension time to one of the players. Especially as I am partly responsible due to forgetting that the replacement player needed to step in and I invited wrong person to the games at first.

• 1st quarter-finals match, between Canada and New Zealand, are currently playing their first 3 games (in rounds 4, 2 and 4);
• 4th matchup, Equatorial Guinea vs Columbia, are also at their first 3 games (all in round 3);
• 2nd matchup, Sweden vs Norway, have finished their first 3 games, game 4 is sent out. Sweden has a 2:1 lead;
• 3rd match, England vs Nigeria, have finished 1 game (ENG leads 1:0), two other games are active and fourth game has also been sent to them.
